On January 23, The Damned release their new album Not Like Everybody Else, a tribute to the sadly departed Brian James, the band's ordinal axe-slinger. The new LP, which is out January 23, finds the band covering some of James' favorite records, including Stooges cuts, Pink Floyd tunes, and a bunch of garage-psyche from the late '60s. To that end, Punknews Editor John Gentile spoke with guitarist/bassist Captain Sensible about the new LP, James, and the band's unending quest. You can read that below.

Perhaps surprisingly, late last year, Punk rock Bowling announced that there would not be a 2026 installment. That may be due, in part, to a recent development regarding the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. The DLVEC is the usual, festival style, outdoor spot that hosts PRB, though in 2023, and in some other years, PRB has been in different locations. According Casino.org, the DLVEC is going to be converted into a parking lot, thereby ending, or at least significantly changing its capability to host shows. DLVEC is owned by Derek and Greg Stevens (who also own nearby hotels The D, Golden Gate and Circa). Representatives for the Stevens' insist that the change is an "evolution" and not the end of the spot as a venue. As of now, there are two events scheduled for the area in 2026. 2025 hosted over 100 events.

Kim Gordon has announced that she will be releasing her third solo album. It is called PLAY ME and will be out on March 13 via Matador Records. The album features 12 new tracks, including her previously released single "Bye Bye 25!" Kim Gordon has also released a video for her new song “NOT TODAY” which was directed by Kate and Laura Mulleavy. Kim Gordon released her album The Collective in 2024.
