Radioactivity have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Time Won’t Bring Me Down and will be out on October 31 via Dirtnap Records and Wild Honey Records. The band has released the title track. This will be their first full-length album since 2015’s Silent Kill. Radioactivity released their single “Erased / Fear” in 2019. Today marks the release of the new album by The Sound of Animals Fighting. The Maiden is their first full-length album in 17 years and features ten tracks that find the band at the top of their game as they lean into their experimental nature, balancing ethereal psychedelic moments with urgent heaviness. Throughout the album, they tell the story of the titular character as she faces death, journeys through the cosmos outside of time and space, and is reborn on Earth where she uncovers the decay at the heart of Western civilization. We caught up with the band to hear the stories behind each of the tracks and follow the voyage of the Maiden. The Maiden is available everywhere now via Born Losers Records. Today, we are pleased to debut the new track by Faulty Cognitions! "The Only One" starts off with a bright, soaring sound before submerging down into a sort of coldly, vicious takedown. "Your not the only one" sneers vocalist Chris Mason while the band rumbles out big, broad, riffs. At once, it has the cold brutality of the 80s post-punkers like Gang of Four and Tubeway army, while retaining that heart-on-the-sleeve affect of classic orgcore. Also, it has a handbreak stop, which makes it that much more vicious… Lou Reedian, even.Speaking to Punknews about the track, Mason stated: ""I wrote 'The Only One' over 5 years ago for a different band that never got off the ground because of Covid. Around the time Faulty Cognitions were finishing up the writing process for the new record, I stumbled upon a demo of the song and brought it to practice. We locked in pretty quickly and decided to record it. I'm pretty sure we did it in one take. 4 chord punk FTW!"You can pick up the new album here and here!
