MoFi releases 45rpm version of New York Dolls debut LP

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has released a 2xLP 45rpm audiophile version of New York Dolls first LP. The release breaks the album across four sides for higher fidelity sound. The label describes the technical aspects of the release thusly: "1/4” / 15 IPS Dolby A analog master to DSD 256 to analog console to lathe." That's out now.

Tours: Bad Egg to tour UK

Bad Egg have announced UK tour dates for this summer. The band will head across the pond to kick off their tour on July 10 in London, England and will wrap up this run on July 17 in Cardiff, Wales. Bad Egg released Cluster of Eggs Volume 1 earlier this year. Check out the dates below.

The Black Void, Fuzzed and Buzzed, and Tarantula Tapes have announced details for the upcoming inaugural edition of Out of the Closet Fest. Along with The Black Void Matty Grace, Slutcode, Your Pal Bill, Wordplay, T.C.I.C., Hysterics, and Ramolas will be playing. Out of the Closet Fest will take place on June 27-28 at Bovine Sex Club in Toronto, Ontario.

As you likely know, Amoeba Records has a "What's In My Bag" series where they have artists, musicians, and other interesting people go through the store and talk about the cool records they got. For episode 900, they had Tony Hawk come and talk about his foundational records. You can see the video below.

Fake Names recording new material, Mario Rubalcaba new drummer?

Fake Names, the band that includes Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Bad Religion, Dag Nasty), Michael Hampton (S.O.A., Embrace), Dennis Lyxzén (Refused, INVSN, The [International] Noise Conspiracy), and Johnny Temple (Girls Against Boys, Soulside) is recording new material. In their brief instagram post, the band also appeared to include Mario Rubalcaba (OFF!, Hot Snakes). (Brendan Canty of Fugazi had drummed with the band earlier). Tours: Catbite announce fall tour dates (US and ON)

Catbite have announced North American tour dates for this fall. The trek kicks off on September 11 in Hamden, Connecticut and warps up on September 21 in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Rodeo Boys and Flying Raccoon Suit will be joining them on select dates. Tickets go on sale Thursday, June 5. Catbite will be touring the US with Less Than Jake, Fishbone, and Suicide Machines this summer. The band released their EP Doom Garden earlier this year. Check out the dates below.
