Spike and the gimme Gimmes have released a new digital single. "Girls just wanna have fun" is a Cyndi Lauper cover. The tune is off Shit the Bed out October 23rd via Fat Wreck Chords. In a release, Spike stated: "Take it from me, Spike… GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN. Allow me to mansplain: the Gimme Gimmes have just scattered the finishing-jimmies on our brand-newest of slightly-burnt offerings entitled, Spike and the Gimme Gimmes Shit the Bed, and we aim to be the fun you wanna have. Last month, Gutser released their excellent second album NINE RIFFS TO RULE THEM ALL. True to the name, the album features nine of their strongest tracks to date that find them sharpening their blend of punk, metal, and powerviolence. Throughout the nine tracks, the band covers a myriad of topics, including the evils of Amazon, the link between climate change and capitalism, the absurdity of bathroom policing, the profundity of psychedelics, and vampires with superb lyrics. Haywire have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye and will be out on October 2 via Roadrunner Records. The band has also released a video for their new song “Interstate Love Affair” which was directed by Luis Hernandez. Haywire released their split with Dropkick Murphys, New England Forever, earlier this year. Check out the video below.
