Riverboat Gamblers have announced a handful of shows for the Midwestern US. The shows will start on April 23 at Draft City Music Fest in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and wrap up on April 27 at Reggie’s in Chicago, Illinois. The Evictions will be joining them on their Wisconsin and Chicago shows. Check out the dates below.

Indianapolis-based Wife Patrol have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called NOPLACE and will be out on May 2. The band has also released a new song called “We Who Are About To”. Wife Patrol released their album Too Prickly For This World in 2020. Check out the song and tracklist below.

Toronto-based DIY punk festival New Friends Fest has announced its lineup for this year. On The Might of Princes, Snowing, Beau Navire (reunion), The Saddest Landscape, Rolo Tomassi (playing their first show in Canada), Home Is Where, State Faults, Gillian Carter, Your Arms Are My Cocoon, Animal Faces (reunion), Senza, Respire, Tenue, Sadness (playing their first show in Canada), Piri Reis, Saton, Capacities, Slow Fire Pistol, Nuvolascura, Lori, Life, Bulletsbetweentongues, Edhochuli, Botfly, Mt. Oriander, Swimming, Drought, Bloom Dream, Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, Pyre, Piper Maru, Gingerbee, Ideailedyournumber, Ceasae, Kaiba, Keening, and The Disaster will be playing the festival. New Friends Fest will take place on August 1-3 at the Lithuanian House in Toronto, Ontario with a pre-fest show happening on July 31. Full weekend passes are now available.

San Francisco-based punk band Tess and The Details have released a video for their cover of “Maniac” by Michael Sembello which was written for the 1983 movie Flashdance. The video was directed, shot, and edited by Devin Zamora and was filmed at the Arlene Francis Center in Santa Rosa, California. The cover is available digitally via Wiretap Records now. Tess and the Details released their album Runaway in 2023. Check out the video below.

ameokama, the solo project of Aki McCullough of A Constant Knowledge of Death, Nu House Studios, and formerly of Dreamwell, has released a video for her song “my fears have become fetishes”. The video was filmed by Katharine Lane of Audsounds and features additional footage by Mara Knoecklein.The song is off ameokama’s debut album i will be clouds in the morning and rain in the evening which was released last month. Half of the proceeds from the album will be donated directly to the transition and safety funds of trans people. Today we are thrilled to bring you a track-by-track breakdown for San Jose-based indie punks Star 99’s sophomore album Gaman! The album is out today via Lauren Records and it is their first release as a quintet with multi-instrumentalist Aidan Delaney joining Saoirse Alesandro, Chris Gough, Jeremy Romero, and Thomas Calvo. The album contains 10 extremely dynamic tracks that find the band expanding their sound and diving into a multitude of emotional complexities as they explore familial, platonic, and romantic relationships as well as what it truly means to persist through hardships. Sadly, Brian James, founding member of The Damned has passed away. He was 70. He died at his home with his family present.
