Dollar Signs have announced that they will be disbanding at the end of this year after 16 years together. The band announced this in a statement on their Instagram page which reads in part, ”the butterflies are big as i type this but the time has come to call it a day on this project. i want to be very clear that we are intending on playing shows the rest of the year and wrapping it up big at the end. i hate a long goodbye, but we wanted to tell you now, so you know that if we’re hitting your town, it’s very likely the last time. we want to see all of our friends one more time & give everyone a chance to make it to a show. i also want to be very clear that kickstarter orders that haven’t gone out yet are our number one priority, and you will still get your packages. we are experiencing a delay with our legend tripping books which has held up some orders. lots more words to come soon, but i’ll use this moment to say that i am scared of a future without this band in my life, but i am happy—i can confidently say that we accomplished everything we could have ever imagined as an independent band, and we did it our own way, reckless & beautiful.” The band will be announcing goodbye shows later this year. Dollar Signs released five full-length albums over the course of their career, the last of which was Legend Tripping in 2023. The band will be touring the US with Devon Kay and the Solutions and Tiny Stills in February. See the post in full below.

The Gamits have released a new single. It's called "Into the red" and it appears to be a stand alone single right now. As per the band: "In the Red was mostly written the morning after Trump was elected back in 2016. It was posted that day to my personal Facebook page as a very raw acoustic performance from my basement. It was never finished and was more or less forgotten or so I thought. Fast-forward eight years later and here we are again. My friend Jen Pop appeared on my feed doing a cover of this song the morning after hewhocannotbenamed was elected for a second time. How cool is that? (not the election results part) I finished the song that day and now on inauguration day 2025 it is the first Gamits single in a very long time. Scowl have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Are We All Angels and will be out on April 4 via Dead Oceans. The band has also released a video for their new song “Not Hell, Not Heaven” which was directed by Sean Stout and filmed at 924 Gilman in Berkeley, California. Scowl released their EP Psychic Dance Routine in 2023 and released their album How Flowers Grow in 2021. Check out the video and tracklist below.

The Kilograms, made up of Joe Gittleman (The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Avoid One Thing), Michael McDermott (ex-The Bouncing Souls, Joan Jett), Sammy Kay, J Duckworth (Newport Secret Six), and Craig Gorsline (The Circle City Deacons), have announced that they will be releasing their debut album. It is called Beliefs and Thieves and will be out on April 4 via Rad Girlfriend Records and Weights and Measures. The band has also released the title track. The Kilograms will be touring the US with Big D and the Kids Table starting in late February and released their EP in 2024. Check out the song and tracklist below.

This Is LA, a benefit show for the California wildfires put on by SOS Booking, has announced its lineup. God’s Hate, Rotting Out, Xibalba, H20, Strife, Downpresser, Zulu, and Watch You Fall will be playing, The show will take place at the Belasco in Los Angeles on February 2.

The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir have announced that they will be releasing a Death Cab For Cutie covers album. The album is called Farther Than Ever Before: A Tribute to Transatlanticism and will be out on March 7 via Sensitivity Patterns. Along with the Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir, the comp features covers by Dying Whale, KOFIN, Funeral Homes, Like Father, IWAN, +CAREGIVER+, Dreamwell, Hidden Mothers, and Fainting Dreams. DROUGHT’s cover of “Death of an Interior Decorator” has also been released. All proceeds from the sale of the record will be split between Global Action for Trans Quality and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Check out DROUGHT’s cover and tracklist below.

Bonnie Trash have released a video for their new song “Hellmouth”. The video was directed by Sarafina and Emmalia Bortolon-Vettor. The song is off their upcoming album Mourning You which will be out on February 28 via Hand Drawn Dracula. Bonnie Trash will be playing a handful of shows around Ontario in February and March and released their EP My Love Remains The Same in 2024. Check out the video and dates below.

Girls With Guts has announced its lineup for this year. CHERYM, Wynona Bleach, Gush, Monday’s Child, Texas, A.N.J.A., The New Normal, Rose Fatale, Sheela, and Revolution will be playing the festival. A portion of the proceeds from the festival will go to Women’s Aid Northern Ireland. Girls With Guts will take place on June 28 at Oh Yeah Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
