Melanie, who sadly passed away in January, and proto-punkers Pink Fairies, have released a combo track. Using recordings from both bands, Cleopatra has created a combo single that finds both bands covering "(Some Say) I got devil." That's out now and you can hear it below.
Whippets and Vacation are going to release a split 7-inch. It's out December 13 and finds each band turning in a tune. Whippets turn in "C-thru" and Vacation hands in "Armory of Bays." The 7-inch is out via Nomad Eel Records and you can hear some older Whippets tunes below.
American Nightmare will be playing a 25th anniversary show. The show is February 15 at the Monarch in Brooklyn. Indecision, No Warning, The Suicide File, Restraining Order, and Face the Pain play the gig, too. Tickets are on sale Friday at noon.
Peter Murphy of Bauhaus has canceled the recently announced Celebrating David Bowie Tour. As per Murphy's representative: " Our January 2025 UK/Europe tour will not take place as Peter Murphy has suddenly taken ill. We will schedule a new tour with a new lineup and our usual array of special guests at a later date. In the meantime, we are sending our best thoughts to Peter for a speedy recovery. Please contact point of purchase for refunds." The tour was orignally set to tour EU featuring Murphy, Angelo Moore of Fishbone, and the Iggy Pop backing band playing an all bowie set. The tour was previously canceled in USA.
Today, we are psyched to debut the new tune by Heavy Lag! On Friday, Dec 6, Bloated Kat Records is releasing a new four-way split lp featuring Heavy Lag, Sekunderna, Teenage Bigfoot, and TV Cop. The idea for the split came from a tour all the bands went on last year. They had such a blast that they decided to make a combo-attack album! Heavy Lag's "Problem Goblin" is a high energy, melodic punk charger! Speaking to Punknews, the band said, "As corny as it sounds, it was really special and exciting to meet these three bands who we’ve been listening to for years, and absolutely insane to decide to do a 4 band weeklong tour together… But that’s what I love about Bloated Kat records. We knew we were going to have a blast no matter how the turnout for the shows were going to be. This was the longest tour Heavy Lag has been on and we were stoked to play to new people in new places. I’m a little drunk, but I love these bands, everyone who came to these shows, and anyone who is stoked to give this album (18 months in the making) a listen." The estate of Peter tosh has re-released the Bush Doctor album to celebrate Tosh's 80th birthday. . The new version is remastered for vinyl and is on red vinyl. That's out now via Tosh's family and parlophone. The orignal release as out via the Rolling Stones own label and the album features contributions from Mick and Keith.
