Trailer for docuseries 'How Music Got Free' released

How Music Got Free is an upcoming docu-series about Napster and the rise of digital music. It's executive produced by Eminem and LeBron James. The two=part series is described by producers as "the fascinating, and often funny, inside story of the technology-driven disruption that changed music during the late-90s and early-2000s. File-sharing technology, combined with the insatiable demand for new music, created both the means and the motive for millions of young people to participate in outright theft – and be celebrated for it." Buzzcocks announce summer tour

Buzzcocks are going on a summer tour. It kicks off in September in Philadelphia and runs across the USA. On the East coast, Lovecrimes opens the show. On the West side, Buzzcocks play between Descendents and Grumpster.Buzzcocks' Steve Diggle will also release an autobiography this year. It's called Autonomy: Portrait of a Buzzcock and it;s out on August 22 via Omnibus Press.

Queen of Jeans release video for "Bitter Pill"

Queen of Jeans have released a video for their new song “Bitter Pill”. The video was directed by Bob Sweeney. The song is off their upcoming album All Again which will be out on June 28 via Memory Music. Queen of Jeans released their EP Hiding In Place in 2022 and released their album If you’re not afraid, I’m not afraid in 2019. Check out the video below.

SECT have released a new song called “Lovers of Life”. The song is off their upcoming album Plagues Upon Plagues which will be out on June 7 via Southern Lord Records. SECT released their album Blood of the Beasts in 2019. Check out the song below.

Videos: Desert Mambas: "The L Word Theme"

Desert Mambas have released a video for their cover of “The L Word Theme” from the TV series The L Word. The theme song was originally performed by BETTY. The video is a re-interpretation of the Pixies video for “Head On” which was shot by Rochelle Shipman and edited by Sydney Christensen. The cover is available digitally now. Desert Mambas released their split with Teens In Trouble and their debut EP …But It’s A Dry Heat in 2023. Desert Mambas will also be playing a handful of California shows this month. Votive to release debut album

Austin, Texas-based Votive have announced that they will be releasing their debut album. It is called Towards the Pillory and will be out on July 12 via No Funeral Records. The band has released a trailer for the album that was filmed and edited by Cameron Kisel. Votive released their EP Wilting in 2022. See the trailer below.

Festivals & Events: Sarah and the Safe Word, The Iron Roses, Vandoliers, more added to Punk Rock Saves Lives Fest 2024

Punk Rock Saves Lives has announced its full lineup for this year. Sarah and the Safe Word, Vandoliers, The Iron Roses, Fire Sale, The Havoc, Blind Adam and the Federal League, Generation Exit, Bad Year. The Frickashinas, The Dollheads, Boob Sweat, JC and the Church, Seize and Desist, Dead Pioneers, Suburban Resistance, Gas Station Boner Pills, Hold Fast, Crimson Riot, Bridge the Gap, Indecisive, and Thomas Nicholas Band will be playing the festival. These bands join the previously announced lineup of Middle-Aged Queers, Jon Snodgrass, Chad Price Peace Coalition, 1876, Spells, Volores, Lights in the Sky, Pitch Invasion, Venomous Pinks, and Black Guy Fawkes. Tickets will go to the Punk Rock Saves Lives Missions of Wellness and Equality. Punk Rock Saves Lives Fest will take place on July 5-7 at Ratio Beerworks in Denver, Colorado.
