Interviews: Talking all things Bitch Fest with Lexy Robidoux and Ashley Cachia

Bitch Fest formed three years ago with the goal of highlighting women, trans people, non-binary people, two-spirit people, and queer people in bands and their mission is still going strong as they prepare to take over Toronto this March for their third and largest edition to date. 53 bands and artists will be playing 12 shows across 9 different venues, filling Toronto with the sounds of anaracho-punk, hardcore punk, ska punk, folk punk, power pop, synth punk, and so much more every weekend in March. Save Toronto Music Venues and STMV Promotions owner Ashley Cachia and owner of Ryot Booking and booking manager for STMV Promotions Lexy Robidoux have been working hard to put Bitch Fest 2024 together and you can get your tickets right here. Punknews editor Em Moore caught up with Ashley and Lexy over Zoom to talk about the festival, the importance of community, making sure shows are safe, books, and so much more. Festivals & Events: Be Well, Pkew Pkew Pkew, Private Function, more added to final Booze Cruise Festival

Booze Cruise has announced the lineup for the final edition of the festival. Be Well, Private Function, Pkew Pkew Pkew, Death Lens, March, Calling Hours, The Run Up, Uberyou, Between Bodies, The Penske File, DFL, Tired Radio, Les Shirley, Eaten By Snakes, Resolutions, Irish Handcuffs, Diaz Brothers, Wasted Years, Her Head’s On Fire, Chartreux, Hell and Back, Forever Unclean, Swan Songs, Captain Asshole, Toddles and The Hectic Party, Bikage, Mamba Bites, Guilhem, Lester, and Bear Away will be playing the festival. Booze Cruise will take place May 31-June 2 in Hamburg, Germany.

Videos: CHERYM: "Alpha Beta Sigma"

CHERYM have released a video for their new song “Alpha Beta Sigma”. The video was directed by Pete Kingston. The song is off their upcoming debut album Take It Or Leave It which will be out on February 16 via Alcopop! Records. CHERYM will be touring Ireland, Europe, and the UK starting next week and released their EP Hey Tori in 2021. Check out the video below.

Listen to a new track by Nasalrod!

Today we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new song by Portland-based punks Nasalrod! The song is called “The Maker” and will be on their upcoming split with Victims Family. Speaking to Punknews about the track lead singer Chairman said, “Aldous Huxley famously said that "the propagandist's purpose is to make one set of people forget that certain other sets of people are human." We've seen how this still rings true today, in both mainstream politics and religion. ‘The Maker’ is about the chaos that continually arises from this cruel absurdity.” Victims Family and Nasalrod in the Modern Meatspace will be out everywhere on March 22 via Nadine Records. Agriculture announce new EP, release video for "Living Is Easy" with Chat Pile

Agriculture have announced that they will be releasing a new EP. It is called Living is Easy and will be released along with their debut EP The Circle Chant (which was released in 2022) on May 3 via The Flenser. The band has also released a video for “Living Is Easy” which was directed by Sam Blakesberg and features Chat Pile. Agriculture will be playing a handful of shows in the spring and released their self-titled EP in 2023. Check out the video, tracklist, and dates below.

Paramore covers Talking Heads

Paramore have released their cover of “Burning Down The House” by Talking Heads. The cover is off the upcoming tribute album Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute To Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense which will be out later this year via A24. Paramore released their album This Is Why in 2023. Check out the song below.

Festivals & Events: Laundrofest announces lineup for 2024

Ohio-based music festival Laundrofest has announced its lineup for this year. Body Farm, Pillars, Salt, Razorblade, Rabid Delusion, Ancient Torture, Bigg Egg, and Fleshpile will be playing. Laundrofest will take place on June 29 at Prototype in Cleveland and June 30 at Dirty Dungarees in Columbus.
