Remember we reported the other day that The Offspring were re-recording at least one song from their 1992 masterpiece Ignition for their new record? Well, the band announced on Twitter that they have finished recording it:
“Just finished up our ‘really old song’..on to mix #4”
The Offspring have not mentioned which “old song” they’re re-recording, but they have said that it’s going to appear on the new record, which will be the follow-up to 2008’s Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace. Earlier this month, they announced that they’re in the middle of finishing it.
In order to promote their new record, The Offspring will be playing this year’s edition of the German festivals Rock am Park and Rock am Ring Festivals and have a European tour in the works. Prior to that, they will headline the PunkSpring Festival in Japan, on March 31, 2012 in Tokyo and on April 1, 2012, in Osaka, with Sum 41, New Found Glory, Suicidal Tendencies and All Time Low.
