Philadelphia’s Beach Slang are streaming a music video for a single from their forthcoming EP. The recently released cover of Bob Mould’s “I Hate Alternative Rock” is the track chosen for visualisation treatment. It will feature on MPLS, which is due to come out on March 15 via Quiet Panic.

The previous release from Beach Slang was the 2018 effort, Everything Matters But No One Is Listening [Quiet Slang].

In an effort to get more bands promoting each other’s music and open up new touring opportunities, Pacific Sound System has released another instalment of its compilation. The collection is simply titled Pacific Sound System: Volume III and features tracks 31 tracks of ska, punk, and reggae from the likes of You Big Idiot, Blackwood Kings, and The Brass Action.

Rising from the ashes of It Gets Worse and The Remnants, Seattle-based Bad Animals have a string of announcements to kick off their journey as a band.

The group has just released a lyric video for the title track from their forthcoming album, All The Shakes. You can check it out below.

In addition, Bad Animals will be performing at the High Dive in Seattle on March 26 to mark the release of their debut album. Supporting them will be Dreadful Children, and Question? No Answer.

Pennsylvania hardcore band Don’t Sleep, featuring Dave Smalley (Dag Nasty, ALL, Down By Law) have signed to Victory Records. The band are to release a full length on the label in the summer.

The band has previously released two EPs, Don’t Sleep in 2017 (Unity Worldwide) and Bring The Light in 2018 (Reaper). Both are up on Bandcamp.

All Hope Remains are apparently based in Australia, but I’m finding that hard to believe. Everything from the Euro-English stylings of their name, to the slightly metallic, melancholy-tinged sound screams ‘Alienated European punks who grew up listening to Epi/Fat’ to me. This isn’t the type of Aussie punk that conjures images of board shorts, beers and ‘barbies, it’s something deeper and more brooding than that.

Their latest single ‘Hit Rewind’ is sure to tickle the fancy of skate punks across the world; the opening snare roll and subsequent harmonic-laden guitar riff rolling back the years to when Ten Foot Pole and Pennywise were hotter than an ill-prepared British tourist walking in the Australian sun.

What sets these guys apart is their knack for melody and the clarity of the vocals. Plenty of bands are tight and technical, but few also have hooks that stand out over the flurry of riffs and drums fills that skate punk is heaving with.

Formed by Adrian Delange of Call It Off and Tim van Doorn of Big Dog Recordings, St Plaster have released their debut song “Run To Your Shelters”. The track is taken from their self-titled debut, which will be released later this year.
