Although Bad Religion is still actively in the studio working on their new album, that isn’t stopping them from bringing us a brand new single titled “The Profane Rights of Man.” A worried look at the state of human rights in America, “The Profane Rights of Man” continues the band’s long-held commitment to incisively topical songwriting.

“The Profane Rights Of Man” featuring Bad Religion’s signature breakneck rhythms, mournful harmonies, and serpentine guitar work, was produced by Brett Gurewitz and mixed by Gurewitz and Joe Barresi. The timely song is based on a historical document from 1789.

Vocalist and songwriter Greg Graffin explains, “The song is based on the 1789 document, “The Universal Rights of Man.” Since we’re a band that has a longstanding tradition of championing the enlightenment, we wanted to emphasize that our society is based on a profane rather than a sacred theological justification for human rights. In sum, the song is about Bad Religion’s belief in a secular basis for the protection of human rights for all people.”

On October 27, Bad Religion will play at the Surf City Blitz festival in Huntington Beach, CA.

The good folks responsible for throwing what’s rapidly becoming the UK’s flagship event have put together a sampler featuring artists that will perform at next year’s shindig. The 24 tracks have been chosen from a variety of genres spanning the eclectic lineup of Manchester Punk Festival’s 2019 edition.

You can except to hear tunes by Dead To Me, King Prawn, Doom, Consumed, Grand Collapse, The Infested, Arms Aloft, Not On Tour, Youth Avoiders, Faintest Idea, Wolfrik, Janus Stark, Incisions, The Winter Passing, Sam Russo, Eat Dirt, The Human Project, Call Me Malcolm, Screech Bats, Jodie Faster, Sallows, Tim Loud, Joe Tilston & The Embers Band, Slumb Party, Well Wisher, Svalbard, and Jenkem.

According to a press release from the festival, the compilation features “plenty of mosh” – that’s me sold then.

The New Jersey punks comprising The Bouncing Souls have announced a December tour with special guests World/Inferno Friendship Society.

The Bouncing Souls are currently working on an album to be released next year in honor of their 30th anniversary. Their last release was 2016’s “Simplicity”, released through Rise Records.

Belgian pop-punk act Lost From The Start have released their new album, “Few and Far Between”, today on Bearded Punk Records. The album’s catchy instrumentals, fused with front-woman Hilde’s melodic vocals, have created a vibe that is equal parts classic throwback and fresh innovation.

Chicago  punk outfit The Eradicator have released their new EP, “The Court’s Closed on Christmas.”

“The Court’s Closed on Christmas”, released via Stonewalled, is the band’s first musical release since last October’s self-titled album.

 Kalamazoo pop-punk band The Functional Citizens have released the title track from their upcoming album “Game Night”, to be released on Halloween on Smoking Cat Records.

The “Game Night” LP will be the band’s first release since their 2016 debut album “Inhuman Resources.”

Brooklyn pop-punk band Cold Wrecks have released a new single called “Crossing Sign.” Defined in the band’s own words as a song about heartbreak, this song is at once bittersweet, upbeat, and melancholy.

Milwaukee pop-punk outfit Direct Hit are now streaming their new music video for their single “Different Universe”, off their upcoming album “Crown of Nothing.”

“Crown of Nothing”, which you can pre-order right here, is due out on November 9th via Fat Wreck Chords. It will be the band’s first full-length album since the 2016 release of “Wasted Mind.”

Tightwire is a Minneapolis pop-punk band that has been gracing Mid-West stages since 2016. Their debut album, “Six Feet Deep” drops this Friday, (10/16/18) on Red Scare Industries, who have played host to bands like The Lillingtons, The Copyrights and TBR. They’ve hooked-up with Dying Scene for the scoop on the band’s new title-track music video.

Six Feet Deep is a woeful love ballad… kind of, except it clocks in at a-minute-and-a-half long. It goes well with The Queers’ classic, Debra Jean, and is for anyone with a broken-hearted “DNR” tattoo.

While I can’t boast one of those, I can say that I know the feeling well, and this is easy listening music on any lonely Saturday night.  It’s old-fashioned pop-punk for wallflowers and left-overs, skeezers, steezers, and sleazers. They’ve got a few rad dates coming up with Kung-Fu Necktie, Teenage Bottle Rocket, Dillinger 4, and OWTH, to check out if they come through your town.
