Here’s some brand new music to kick off the weekend!

If you’re like me and you’ve been kinda bummer since The So So Glos hit the “PAUSE” button on their career after their last album (the obscenely stellar Kamikaze), this should get you fired up. SSG lead vocalist/songwriter/bass player Alex Zarou Levine, has not only been working on his debut solo album, but it’s ready for release later this year!

Written and recorded under the moniker Alexander Orange Drink – a reference to the medication he’s had to take since birth to combat the rare and life-threatening disorder Homocystinuria – Levine’s eight-song Babel On is due out September 28th. It was written in the period of time after the So So Glos went on hiatus and, simultaneously, their home venue, Shea Stadium, was forced to shutter for the last time. To whet your appetite for what’s coming, Babel On‘s lead single, “Normalize,” is now streaming, and in typical So So Glos fashion, it’s fun and different and has a pretty hypnotic groove to it. Check it out below.

You can pre-order and pre-save Babel On through Spotify or iTunes. Stay tuned for more on this one.

The long awaited debut album from the Manchester-based shred factory that is Fair Do’s comes out on Lockjaw Records tomorrow. However, the band have given DyingScene an exclusive stream of it before it drops.

Leopards will be available on both CD and a brilliantly garish magenta/yellow splatter vinyl. You an order both from Lockjaw Records at this link.

Vocalist and guitarist of Fair Do’s, Danny Cummings, had the following to say about the record:

“We spent a lot of time on demoing and pre-production for this album, we wanted to have everything nailed down before we went into the studio… Essentially, we spent two years writing, 18 months recording, and six months organising the release – with some touring in between.”

Leopards was produced, engineered, and mixed by Dave Boothroyd at Reel Recording Studio in York. Mastering duties were taken care of by Daryl Phenneger of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Danny commented on the recording process:

“We’ve worked with Dave in the past and he is an absolute master of his art. He knew exactly what we wanted and exactly how to deliver it. We couldn’t be happier! If you’re recording an album and want it clean, loud, crisp and popping, then talk to these guys.”

The album itself is a less-than-subtle fusion of melodic hardcore and metal, which showcases some of the best musicianship in punk rock today. If you’re a fan of fast, shouty noise with pointy metallic edges, Leopards is going to be right up your street.

Check it out before anyone else below!

NEW! Hardcore straight out of the windy city, rabble-rouser band UGLYBoNES‘ single “Headcase” is hot off the press and coming at you exclusively from Don’t Panic Records and Distro. They’ve been called “the rowdiest band in Chicago”, and these self proclaimed “four best friends who have ruined each others lives” have put together a new album, Sunshine, which will be dropping on August 15 with a release party set for August 17 at the Galaxy 2.0 club in Chicago. There last album, Growing Concerns, was released in 2016.

This will be the band’s premiere full-length with Don’t Panic Records, and they’ve decided to channel their creativity and frustrations into more of a narrative this time around. “We wrote this album thinking about a single day in someone’s life and the feelings that person may have throughout the day. Everything from unnerving confrontations to folding laundry,” band members admitted in a statement, and although the subject matter may at first appear mundane, the resulting broadcast is almost certain to cause a riot. The synapse seizing rhythm and tick-tick time-bombing progression of the first single “Headcase” is perfect for any crowd destroyer. With a crushing vocal delivery from Lev, who’s clearly seeing red with his daily honey-do list, the track ensures each listener a spastic and transient trip into the heart of the circle pit. For fans of Bane and Comeback Kid, give “Headcase” a listen below.
