The Offspring have announced that they are going to play their classic 1992 album Ignition in its entirety at an exclusive benefit show in Berkeley for 924 Gilman, celebrating their 30th Anniversary, on April 13th. Tickets are already on sale and more information about this event can be found here.

The Gilman appearance won’t be the first time The Offspring played the entire Ignition album live. They played the album live on tour back in 2012 to coincide with its 20th anniversary, and again at some shows a year later.

In other news, The Offspring guitarist Noodles posted pictures of the letter “X” on his Instagram account, cryptically referring to the band’s long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Days Go By, which will be the tenth studio album in their career. These posts indicate that details/updates of the new record will be announced soon.

After reporting a-week-and-a-half ago that they were working on approximately 20 new songs, Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness gave The Pacific Northwest Inlander another update on the band’s long-awaited new album, saying that they might have enough songs and hinted at entering the studio in about six months. He states:

“I’ve been reading and writing, and kind of wrapping my mind around the self-imposed challenge that I’ve put on myself: that I’ve got to write the record of my career. So I’ve got to raise the bar. That’s just something that I put on myself because I don’t like to just go, ‘Time to put out another record’ and go through the motions.

I mean, yeah, we might have enough songs right now. But I want to see what can happen over the next six months. Can I outdo this? What direction do I want to go in? What do I want to say?”

When the new Social D record will be released is unknown, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted when more information comes to light. The band’s most recent album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, was released in 2011.

According to a recent post on their Facebook page, Italian pop-punks Biffers were denied entry to the US while going through customs at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport this past weekend because their “VISAs weren’t correct”.

Shortly after they began booking shows for the tour, the band found out their documentation wasn’t correct, but it was too late to apply for different VISAs. Apparently they knew this could potentially keep them from entering the country, but didn’t want to cancel the tour.

The Kung Fu Records band did end up getting turned away at the door, and they were put on a plane to London from where they could make their way home to Livorno. Needless to say, the tour was cancelled but Biffers plan to reschedule soon. Hopefully the next one goes better!
