The Mezz cross life’s ‘Bridges’ with a glistening confidence and authenticity

There’s a wonderful glow across the surface of The Mezz’s vibrant new single “Bridges,” which hits the streams today (November 8) via AWAL. But like most things, there’s a darker storyline closer to the hidden core. For the rising English band out of Oxford, it’s been supporting drummer Charlie Emmons as he remains cancer-free not long after his life-changing diagnosis; and for the song, it’s about deciding how to depict ourselves as authentic as possible in a social media landscape that […]

Band in the USA: Bombay Bicycle Club bring a ‘Big Day’ to North America

There are few guarantees in life, but here are two we can count on: Bombay Bicycle Club remaining on both on our playlists and our event calendar. The British indie survivalists released another fantastic record last month in My Big Day — revisit Chaka Khan collab “Tekken 2” for proof — and will now take it across North America for a healthy dose of 2024 dates. The run is split into two legs, and Boston’s dance arrives midway through the […]

This Show Is Tonight: Moon Taxi set it all ‘Free’ in Boston

We last caught up with Moon Taxi back in February, when the Nashville alt-indie band rolled out a new brand of “Classics”, a breezy carefree joint that threw it back to the long-lost innocent joy of the ’90s. It served as the first taste of Moon Taxi’s eclectic new sixth album, the summer’s Set Yourself Free, and now Boston gets a live serving of the goods as the band rolls into the Paradise Rock Club tonight (November 8), the latest […]

Exclusive Videos: Watch the new video by Laserchrist!

Today we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new video by Southeast London-based punk rockers Lasterchrist! The video is for their new song “Sssnakes”. It was filmed and animated by Ryan Griffiths and the idea was formed by Yusuf Laher (formerly of Laserchrist and currently of Vampire Slumber Party). Speaking about the song the band said, ”The song is about being a little bit of a poor boy hobo and the people who surround him. He has complicated relationships within an unforgiving and savage city. It took on the name ‘Snakes and Ladders’ for a little bit since the song is pretty much about ups and downs, but we eventually just stuck with ‘Sssnakes’”. ”Sssnakes” will be on Laserchrist’s upcoming debut self-titled LP which will be out next year via Little Rocket Records and Sell The Heart Records.
