Pouty, the project of Rachel Gagliardi of Slutever and Upset, has released a new song. It is called “Virgos Need More Love” and is out now via Get Better Records. Pouty released their single “Bambina” in 2021 and their EP Saint Mary of the Moods in 2017. Check out the song below.
Montreal-based post-punk artist Alix Fernz has announced that he has signed to Mothland. He has also released a video for his debut single “Wax”. Alix directed the video along with Nora Mejdouli. The song is available now on the label. Check out the video below.

A new posthumous album by King Louie Bankston of The Exploding Hearts (whopassed away in 2022) has been announced. It is called Harahan Fats and will be out on November 10 via Goner Records. A video for “Trinkets” which was directed by Art Boonparn has also been released. The song was recorded by Jay Reatard at Shattered Studios and features Jack Oblivian on drums and Harlan T Bobo on guitar. The label has also been working with King Louie’s estate and will be releasing a series of previously unheard albums which will begin with the release of Jesus Loves My One Man Band on September 20. Late last week, Westworld broke the news that Ross Swirling, singer for Allout helter plead guilty to attempted sexual assault on a minor. According to the article, Swirling contacted an undercover agent online, who was posing as a 14 year old female. Swirling knew the decoy was 14 and even stated that he was 39. Over the course of a few weeks, he moved the conversation from small talk to sexually charged discussion, without the prompting of the decoy, and eventually sent dick pics to the decoy. They then planned to meet up at a Mcdonalds during the decoy's school lunch break. At that time, Swirling was arrested by police. Apparently, he stated his life was over and even alluded to the fact that his father had been arrested for traveling across state lines with the intent to have sex with a minor. Police searched Swirling's devices and found that he had been communicating with another individual trading pictures of children that, while not naked, were sexually suggestive. The judge sentenced Swirling to two years of sex offender intensive supervised probation. Further, he is now on the Colorado Bureau of Investigation sex offender registry. Westworld notes that Swirling had been active in trying, and sometimes being successful, to get shows canceled if the bands playing were against his political/social beliefs. Notably he campaigned against Teenage bottlerocket when allegations of misconduct regarding Ray Bottlerocket appeared online via the enough podcast.
After selling out their first record release show in less than 24 hours, Paint It Black have announced a second record release show. The second show is also at the First Unitarian Chruch in Philadelphia. On November 25, the day after the first record release show, The Messthetics, Spaced, and Raskol open. Famine is out November 3.
Iron Mind have announced that they will be releasing a new two-song single. The songs are called “Assume Your Ultimate Form” and “Spiral of Doubt”. “Assume Your Ultimate Form” is out now. It will be out on September 22 via Flatspot Records and Last Ride Records. Iron Mind released their self-titled album in 2014. Check out the song below.

Gel have announced tour dates for the US and Canada for this fall. Glare and Initiate will be joining them on all dates and Pardoner and Fraud will be joining them on select dates. Gel will be supporting Thursday on select dates on their ongoing US tour, will be touring the UK and Ireland with Municipal Waste in October, and will be touring the US supporting Jeff Rosenstock starting in November. The band released their album Only Constant earlier this year and we spoke to them about it in March. Check out the dates below.
