Trump to close Kennedy Center two years

As you likely know, last year, Trump fired all of the board of the prestigious Kennedy center and installed his own handpicked board. that board then made Trump himself chairman. Trump then renamed the center the Donald J. Trump – John F. Kennedy center for the Performing arts. Following the change in regime and the new name, many artists slated to appear dropped out of performing at the venue, including Ben Folds, Peter Wolf and Philip Glass. The Trump administration also canceled a few events including The Gay Men''s Chorus of Washington and The U.S, Marine Band. Meanwhile, attendance at the venue has plummeted. On Sunday night, Trump announced that he will be closing the venue for two years for "for Construction, Revitalization, and Complete Rebuilding." Notably, before this announcement, there had not been any statements or reports that the center needed to be revitalized. The closure will begin this summer on July 4… the date chosen, as per Trump, to be part of America's 250th birthday.
