Festivals & Events: Initiate, Problem Patterns, more added to My People Fest

German hardcore and punk festival My People Fest has added more bands to its lineup for this year. Choke Cocoi, Dying For It, Incaseyouleave, Initiate, Problem Patterns, and Iron Deficiency will now be playing the festival. These bands join the previously announced first wave lineup of Faim, Fuse, Move BHC, Shoreline, Tomar Control, xDREGSx, and No Man. My People Fest will take place July 14-16 at Cassiopeia Club and OST Hafen in Berlin, Germany.

Dream Wife announce new album, release "Hot (Don't Date A Musician)" video

Dream Wife have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Social Lubrication and will be out June 9 via Lucky Number. The band have also released a video for their new song “Hot (Don’t Date A Musician)”. Dream Wife released both their album So When You Gonna… and their live album IRL (Live in London 2020) in 2020. Shonen Knife have released a video for their new song “MUJINTO Rock”. The video was created by Rocco Canvas. The song is off their upcoming album Our Best Place which will be out February 15 via Good Charamel Records. Shonen Knife released their album Sweet Candy Power in 2019. Check out the video below.

Private Function to release new album

Australian punks Private Function have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called 370HSSV 0773H and features a scratch-off cover. If you reveal three matching icons you can win $2999 and have your face printed on all future represses of the album. This album cover almost didn’t happen due to South Australia’s Lotteries Act which states that a permit must be obtained for the release of anything involving “scratch-based cash promotion”. On February 6, the band announced that they had been granted an exemption from Part 2 of the Lotteries Act. The album will be able to be released as planned in South Australia with the scratch-off cover intact. 370HSSV 0773H will be out March 31. Private Function released their album Whose Line Is It Anyway? in 2020. See the band's statement about the exemption below.

Samiam announce new album, release "Crystallized" video

Samiam have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Stowaway and will be out March 31 via Pure Noise Records. The band have also released a video for their new song “Crystallized”. The video was filmed, directed, and edited by Austin Rhodes. Samiam will be touring with The Bouncing Souls this spring and released Trips in 2011. Check out the video and tracklist below.
