Festivals & Events: Punk In Drublic Festival cancels Baltimore date

Punk in Drublic Music and Craft Beer Festival has announced the cancellation of its upcoming October 1 Baltimore date. Refunds are being issued. The festival announced this in a statement on Instagram that reads in part, "Due to circumstances beyond our control, Punk in Drublic in Baltimore is being canceled. The costs of operating the event at this time proved to be impossible. We are terribly disappointed as we know you are. The decision was not made lightly and we explored every possible option we could to make it happen, unfortunately it was to no avail. Ticket holders will receive a full refund and that refund process has already begun." The festival's Worcester (Sep 24) and Asbury Park (Oct 2) shows will be going ahead as planned.

Blag Dahlia streams 'Introducing Ralph Champagne' album

Blag Dahlia of The Dwarves has released his new solo record Introducing Ralph Champagne. He described the record as "retro Americana music with a healthy dash of outlaw country, old school crooner and modern miscreant in the mix!" It's out via Greedy/MVD and you can hear the entire release below.

Franz Nicolay to release new solo album, shares "New River, Spring For Me" video

Franz Nicolay, of The Hold Steady and World/Inferno Friendship Society, has announced that he will be releasing a new solo album called New River. Ara Babajian (The Slackers) plays drums and Frank Piegaro (Worriers) plays bass on the record. The album will be out November 11 via Don Giovanni Records. A video for the first single, "New River, Spring For Me" that features horns by Peter Hess and tasters by Steve Selvidge has been released. The video was created by Diana Morales. Franz Nicolay released his book Someone Should Pay for Your Pain in 2021 and released Peopssongs in 2017. Check out the video and tracklist below.

Bad Cop/Bad Cop cancel UK & Europe tour dates

Bad Cop/Bad Cop have announced that they will be cancelling their upcoming UK and European tour due to health concerns. The band released a statement on Instagram that reads, "Hello there… We at badcopbadcop regret to inform you that we will NOT be coming to Europe and the UK this year. We have labored over this decision for months, as we have notoriously been in the line of fire when it comes to covid and health issues. We were the ones that had to fly home two weeks early when covid struck the world and then again when it personally struck us this past year.To preserve our mental well-being and overall health, we have decided that this time we can’t take the risk. BUT WE WILL BE BACK IN 2023! Our new dates are getting booked now, so please look out for our next post about it all. Though, unfortunately, some dates will be cancelled all together, so please keep your eyes open for those too, so you can get a refund. Our band never wants to let anyone down, we love you all and want to get back over to your side of the world as soon as it is safe for us. Early Bay Area synth-punkers The Units will release a compilation of some of their earliest demos, recorded in '78-'79. That will be out on Germany's Minimalkombinat label next Spring. You can hear some of the tracks below.

Rest Easy: "Hey Maxine"

Vancouver based punks Rest Easy have released a lyric video for their new song "Hey Maxine". The video clips were filmed by Mike Thomas and edited by Alex Zarek. The song is off their upcoming album Hope You're Okay due out October 28 via Mutant League Records. Rest Easy released their EP Sick Day in 2021. Check out the lyric video below.
