And finally, here’s the last major trailer to come out of this year’s CCXP, which is for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. We’re big fans of both Gunn and this particular segment of the MCU, which has made for flippant and fun times (though we haven’t checked out the Holiday Special yet, perhaps because we’re scared that a digitally-recreated Bea Arthur’s gonna show up alongside a very stoned cast), but it comes with some additional irony now […]

The after-hours trailer deluge continued yesterday when Disney took the stage at CCXP with two trailers just guaranteed to set the internet ablaze. First up is a first look at James Mangold’s Indiana Jones 5, now titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which is bound, in part, to be a feature-length apology to the segments of the audience that didn’t care for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It looks kind of… odd. And no, we’re not bothered by […]

So, in case you didn’t know, CCXP, which is one of the world’s biggest comic book conventions, is currently happening in Brazil. We sure as hell didn’t, or we would have paid more attention to our feeds once quitting time came around, given the amount of trailers and news that dropped soon after we walked away from the computer to pet cats and stuff. The first big announcement came from Paramount, which dropped the first trailer for Transformers: Rise of […]

First and foremost, Norm Laviolette is a man of comedy and entertainment. Just beyond that, he’s also a big baseball fan, and with a golden opportunity to join the two together in the holiest of matrimonies, he’s seizing the moment. As announced earlier this summer, the local entertainment mogul and author and the Brockton Rox, the collegiate summer league baseball club he bought into before this past season, are on a mission to further revolutionize the minor league baseball experience […]

Traffic doesn’t stand a chance: Bang Camaro are back on the highway of rock. The Boston guitar heroes and gang vocalists, hailed as the city’s biggest band (literally) during a ferocious late-2000s heyday that saw them tour North America five years straight and appear on stages everywhere from The Paradise to Late Night with Conan O’Brien to Lollapalooza, return this week with their first new song in over a decade. It’s called “Too Fast to Fall in Love,” and it […]

Sleep are now selling copies of a live album that was originally a bootleg. the band stated: "For Bandcamp Friday, the remaining copies of the Sleep New York 2018 vinyl bootleg that were intercepted by the band and sold on the 2022 North American Tour are now available for purchase. Two versions with different covers are available: Red and Blue. 420 copies of the Blue cover were pressed and are numbered. We were told less than 200 of the Red were pressed. These remain unnumbered." The release was recorded in New York in 2018. The copies are a bit pricey, however- Sleep is selling the configurations at $175 and $200, though before the "official online release," copies sold for $300-$365 on Discogs.

It was just this past summer that we were treated to the musical comedy of JR De Guzman on The Wilbur stage for the first time. Now, we can look ahead to next year, as he has a whole new batch of stories to share, and he can’t wait to tell us all about it. As announced earlier this week, De Guzman is already plotting his return to Tremont Street as part of his upcoming 2023 About Last Evening tour, […]
