Joyce Manor has recorded a KEXP live session. The band played “Grey Guitar”, “Well, Don’t It Seem Like You’ve Been Here Before?”, “I Used To Go To This Bar”, “Well, Whatever It Was”, and “I Know When Mark Chen Lives” from their recently released album I Used to Go to This Bar along with “Heart Tattoo” from their 2014 album Never Hungover Again, “Constant Headache” from their 2011 self-titled album, and “NBTSA” from 2022’s 40 oz. Last month, the Polaris Music Prize announced the 40-album Long List for this year’s prize and now, the 10-album Short List has been revealed. Vol. II by Angine de Poitrine, 1783 by Aquakulture, Fantasy Life by Begonia, Amaro by Bibi Club, Hurts Like Hell by Charlotte Cornfield, Laughter in Summer by Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Through the Wall by Rochelle Jordan, Alouette! by Les Louanges, No Lube So Rude by Peaches, and Saputjiji by Tanya Tagaq make up the list. The winner of the Polaris Music Prize will be awarded during the Polaris Concert and Award Ceremony on September 22 at Massey Hall in Toronto, Ontario. You can see the announcement video below.

Citizen have released a video for their new song “I Can See You From Here”. The video was directed by Kaylinn Duffy and was created with production company Tart Productions. The song is off their upcoming album Halcyon Blues which will be out on August 7 via Run For Cover Records. Citizen released their album Calling the Dogs in 2023. Check out the video below.

Earlier this year, Hans Gruber and the Die Hards surprise-released their fourth studio album Or Hans Gruber and the Die Hards. The album finds the band at their most experimental and collaborative, working with over 30 featured artists to bring their expansive and gloriously chaotic vision to life. The twelve tracks that make up the album are some of their most urgent to date. They dive into the current political climate with lyrics that pull no punches and instrumentation that weaves together elements from ska, punk, hardcore, and cumbia. Hans Gruber and the Die Hards will be playing Compost Heap Fest in Colorado later this month and will be touring the US with Doom Scoll starting in August.Punknews editor Em Moore caught up with Kurt Armstrong and Rosey Armstrong through the power of the internet to talk about the album, recording a vaudeville era harp, filming a video at the Cow House, and so much more. Converge have announced European tour dates for this fall. The tour begins on November 11 in Munchen, Germany and wraps up on November 22 in London, England. Sanguisugabogg and Pupil Slicer will be joining them on all dates with Blackbraid joining them on all dates except their November 14 show in Eindhoven. Converge released their albums Hum of Hurt and Love Is Not Enough earlier this year. Check out the dates below.
