Monk release two new tracks

Los Angeles-based zen hardcore band Monk has released two new songs. The songs are called “Chains” and “Dark Side of the Mind” which features guest vocals from Brendan Murphy of Counterparts. “Dark Side of the Mind” has an accompanying video that was directed by Jovanni Martinez who also produced it with lead vocalist Frank Bach and edited it along with Born In The North. The songs are available digitally now via Dine Alone Records and Tarantula Tapes. Monk released their debut recording Rock in 2023. Check out the video and song below.

Joe Jack Talcum plays a FREE show in Coatsville, PA THIS SATURDAY!!!

Yeah baby! THIS SATURDAY IS THE DAY! Punknews is thrilled to be a co-sponsor of a FREE Joe Jack Talcum show! Organized by Animated Brewing Company in Coatsville, the show will find Joe (of The dead milkmen of course) playing a solo set. Who knows what he will play, but he usually does some solo cuts, some DM tunes, some rarities, and sometimes even some unexpected covers! Joe has been releasing a string of very, very cool EPs and singles- record store, Over the moon, New year's baby, Gender blender- so this is going to be a really, really cool set! PLUS, there are two killer openers: MRC and the Souvenirs (that's Mike of All Else Failed) will do his solo thing AND Husband Lost at Sea (that's Pat of All Else Failed) will do HIS solo thing! AND IT'S FREE BABY! That's THIS SATURDAY – February 15 at 7pm at Animated Brewing co: 255 Mount Airy Rd., Coatesville, PA… though maybe show up a little early as there is a real good chance that this show will hit capacity. Tours: Death Cab for Cutie announce 'Plans' 20th anniversary shows (US)

Death Cab For Cutie have announced a handful of US shows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 2005 album Plans. The shows will take place in August with stops in Seattle, Chicago, and Brooklyn. Nation of Language will be joining them for their Seattle and Chicago shows and The American Analog Set will be joining them for their two Brooklyn shows. Death Cab For Cutie will be playing Plans in full on each date. Ticket presale starts on February 13 and tickets will go on general sale on February 14. Check out the dates below.

Matty Grace: "Dead On Monday"

Matty Grace has released a new song. It is called “Dead On Monday” and is off her upcoming solo album Cheap Shame which will be out on April 1 via Dirt Cult Records. Matty Grace released her EPs The Breakdown of Progress and Start. Stop. Repeat. along with her collection album Blemishes and Scars in 2023. Check out the song below.

PUP to release new album, share "Hallways" video

PUP have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Who Will Look After The Dogs? and will be out on May 2 via their own label Little Dipper and Rise Records. The band has also released a video for their new song “Hallways” which was directed by Sterling Larose. PUP will be touring Europe and the UK this spring and released The Unraveling of Pup the Band in 2022. Check out the video and tracklist below.

Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, White Stripes, OutKast, more up for Rock Hall nomination

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its nominees for 2025. Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order (who are packaged together as one nominee), Cyndi Lauper, Mana, Oasis, OutKast, Phish, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes are all up for nomination. You can cast your vote online for the bands/artists you’d like to see inducted. Voting is open until April 21 and the inductees will be revealed later that month. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place in the fall.
