This Show Is Tonight: Vacations go on holiday in Boston

In the immortal words of The Wizard of Oz, there’s no place like home — unless, of course, you’re Vacations. The Australia-based indie rock mainstays released their third LP, No Place Like Home, back in January, and have since crossed the Pacific to hit the road here in North America. Tonight (July 31), they bring their shiny summer blend of guitar-driven synth rock to Boston when they hit the stage at Royale. Joining the band will be Atlanta-based four piece […]

Punky The Singer susses out romantic ‘space’ on new tune ‘No Love Lost’

For decades — if not centuries — linguists have attempted to discern the meaning of the dreaded relationship phrase “I need space.” They’ve yet to find a conclusive translation, and on “No Love Lost,” Punky The Singer is just as befuddled — and disgruntled. The Boston singer’s new single arrived earlier this month (July 19) offering peacefully pissed R&B, as she dishes out calmly-spoken musings that range from “Rewarded your distance with distance” to “How the fuck you make this […]
