Festivals & Events: Mustard Plug, Sonic Boom Six, Omnigone, more to play Level Up Fest 6

London, UK-based Level Up Fest has announced its lineup for this year. Sonic Boom Six, Mustard Plug, The JB Conspiracy, Omnigone, Till I’m Bones, Operation Ibis, The Pisdicables, Captain Accident, Chris Murray, Eat The Evidence, Fidget and The Twitchers, King’s Alias, Bossmags, Harijan, Joystick!, Andy B and The World, Prize Dink Camp, Dakka Skanks, and Eager Tiger will be playing the festival. Level Up Fest will take place on July 26-28 at New Cross Inn in London, UK.

Calgary-based hardcore band Trench have released a video for their new song “Dust to Bone” which features City and Colour. The video was directed by Jake Braben. The song is off their upcoming album Between Inverted Worlds which will be out on August 16 via New Damage Records. Trench released their album Blossom in 2020. Check out the video below.

Omnigone have released a video for their new song “Her Story”. The video was directed by Andrew Juncker of French Press Films. The song is off their upcoming album Feral which will be out on July 26 via Bad Time Records. Omnigone will be touring the UK later this month and touring the US with Suicide Machines in November. Polaris Music Prize short list announced

The Polaris Music Prize has announced the short list for 2024. The jury voted for these 10 albums to advance out of the 40 album strong long list which was announced last month. The albums on the short list are Set Your Pussy Free by NOBRO, Blame My Ex by The Beaches, INFINITY CLUB by BAMBII, The Flower That Knew by DijahSB, 99 Nights by Charlotte Cardin, Motewolonuwok by Jeremy Dutcher, Inuktitut by Elisapie, Diamond Jubilee by Cindy Lee, The Returner by Allison Russell, and Panic by TOBi. The winner of the prize will be announced at the Polaris Gala which will take place at Massey Hall in Toronto, Ontario on September 17. See the announcement video below.

Nu House Studios releases 'Trans Rights II: WE ARE NO LONGER ASKING' benefit comp

Nu House Studios has released their new compilation album Trans Rights II: WE ARE NO LONGER ASKING. The album is available on Bandcamp with the base $10 going to the Doctors Without Borders Emergency Relief Fund which provides medical aid to regions undergoing humanitarian crises including Gaza, Sudan, and Haiti. Additional profits will go to the studio’s Trans Musician Fund which goes toward covering the studio costs so trans artists can create their art. Several tracks were mixed by Aki and James and James mastered the album. The artwork was created by Nat Lacuna of The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir.
