Editor’s Note: In addition to our ongoing preview coverage, Vanyaland and Boston Calling are teaming up once again to showcase the homegrown bands and artists that help shape the local flavor of the city’s most vital music festival. Nihiloceros has released a new album. It's called "Dark Ice Balloons" and it's out now. The band's Mike B said, "“Dark Ice Balloons” instead explores the places between the worlds of living and the dead. Just opening up the possibilities within our consciousness of different heavens and hells and all the weird places in between somehow felt a whole lot cozier than everything being simply blinked out of existence." You can hear the whole album, below.
Today we are super stoked to bring you the premiere of the new video by The Penske File! The video is for their song “Will We Ever Know” and features footage filmed on their recent tour of Europe by Victor Wiercioch. Speaking about the song, bassist and vocalist James Hall said, “When writing this song I was definitely in one of the biggest lows of my life. The song comes from different perspectives that I imagined for myself and others all while going back to the question "Will we ever know?” As time drifts further from when the song was written, it continues to have different meanings. However, the thought of not truly knowing what the future has in store for any one of us holds true.” "Will We Ever Know" is off their album Half Glow which was released in 2023 and spoke to guitarist and vocalist Travis Miles about it last year. The Penske File will be playing Pouzza Fest in Montreal on May 18 and will be playing a handful of shows around Ontario and Europe this spring. Watch the video below!

In case you’ve been living in, you know, the real world the last couple of years and haven’t spent too much time paying attention to the wacky shit that gauntlet-throwing auteurs do in their final years, you might not have noticed that Francis Ford Coppola’s got a new movie coming out. It’s a passion project of his entitled Megalopolis, which he’s been aiming to make for years and years, and he finally got tired of waiting for the funding to […]

Well, here’s a case of the sunk-cost fallacy in action: Amazon’s brought The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power back for a second season after what might have been the most underwhelming launch of an AAAA show in the history of streaming. Sure, 100 million people might have watched some of it. Still, we’re decently sure that this number isn’t what they’d hoped for when they realized they’d cut $450 million in checks to a production that really […]
