As recnetly revealed by the Independent, Shane MacGowan of The Pogues is in the hospital. Last December, he was diagnosed with viral encephalitis, a rare and potentially life-threatening condition that causes the brain to swell. Apparently, he has been in there for months and hopes to be discharged by Christmas. We wish Shane the best health.
Napalm Death have announced UK and European tour dates for 2024. Primitive Man, and Wormrot will be joining them on all dates and Pig Destoryer will be joining them on select dates. Napalm Death released their mini-album Resentment is Always Seismic – a final throw of Throes in 2022 and their album Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism in 2020. Check out the dates below.
Apparently there's a CANADIAN football league?! Well, on Sunday the CFL had their version of the Superbowl, called the Grey Cup where the Montreal Alouettes (not kidding) defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in front of a massive crowd of about 28,000 canucks. The Rolling Stones, the greatest rock band ever, will tour USA in Summer 2024. The tour kicks off in late April and runs through July. The band hits both coasts and visits 16 cities. The tour is sponsored by… AARP. The band is supporting the recently released Hackney Diamonds. A review of that album will be on the site shortly.

Canadian festival Vertigo Music Festival has announced its lineup for 2024. Single Mothers, Mvll Crimes, Pkew Pkew Pkew, Sleepy Jean, Gravely James, Jon Lepp, Days on Parade, Sunshine Express, Over It, and Zach Bury will be playing the festival. Vertigo Music Festival will take place on February 10 at Isaac’s Bar and Grill at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario.
In December 2024 (not 2023), The Damned will play the UK. As previously announced, original drummer Rat Scabies is back in the band. So, the band now includes all original members (Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies) except Brian James, Black Album and Strawberries era Paul Gray, and long time member Monty Oxymoron. On the tour, the band will play songs from Black Album and Strawberries because the lineup now matches the contributors to those albums and some other hits. You can see the dates below.
