Hot off their Coachella performance, California pop punk band Joyce Manor is about to pick up the second half of their North American tour to support their newest album, I Used to Go to This Bar, released on January 30th via Epitaph this year. Joining them is a stacked lineup featuring Militarie Gun, Teen Mortgage and Combat…check out the Chicago show from the first leg of their tour!

Kicking off the night is Combat, an emo, indie rock band from Baltimore. This is a band you will want to watch out for!

You know I’ll never stop gushing about Teen Mortgage. For myself personally, it was the largest stage and crowd I’ve seen them have (though they have definitely played larger), and I was pretty stoked about it. My fellow Chicago fans really showed up for this one!

Teen Mortgage released their newest single “Burn” last month, and it’s possibly their sickest song yet. Beautifully gritty and raw, it has earned its place as a bop you’d put on repeat and never grow tired of it.

High-energy Militarie Gun delivered a chaotically fun performance that really gets you moving. They have quickly obtained notoriety and praise for their intense shows and genre-blending songs.

Joyce Manor’s music truly feels nostalgic. Their most recent album, I Used to Go to This Bar, is the band’s seventh studio album and was produced by Bad Religion’s Brett Gurewitz.

Fans were nonstop crowd surfing and singing along to “All My Friends Are So Depressed” and “Well, Whatever It Was”.

Joyce Manor still has plenty of tour dates left, don’t miss out!

CEREMONY return with a beautiful fury called ‘Other Hells’

Tucked under the various layers of Coachella’s dark energy over the past two weekends (Bieber’s laptop, Sabrina’s reaction, influencer’s vice grip, The Strokes’ condemnation, Olivia’s cameo, your Ozempic diet) were a pair of late-day sets from CEREMONY. Now the California punk band returns with its first new song in five years, a punchy hardcore ripper called “Other Hells.” The growling track dropped yesterday and clocks in at 126 seconds, though it feels way longer through the first few listens. Perhaps […]

IFFBoston 2026 Preview Part 1: Boosters, Tuners, and ‘Hokum’

There’s nothing quite like opening your inbox and finding an email that causes your jaw to drop all the way to the floor — with good news, that is, as opposed to all of the creditors and doctors and co-workers that normally fill it all the way to the brim. We were lucky enough to have that happen to us recently, on the day IFFBoston — or the Independent Film Festival Boston, as it is otherwise known — sent out […]

Afroman files appeal in Defamation case

As you likely know, this Spring, Afroman successfully defended himself in a defamation case brought against him by members of the Adams County, Ohio Sheriff's department. In that matter, members of the Sheriff;s department sued Afroman for making fun of them after they raided his house with a warrant related to drugs and kidnapping, but failed to find any evidence of any crime. They then confiscated money from Afroman's house, which was later returned to him- However, the money returned was less than the amount stated on the sheriff seizure in-take sheet. Afroman released numerous songs making fun of the sheriff deputies including "Lemon pound cake," "Randy waltes is a son of a bitch," and "Licc em low, Lisa." After a riotous trial, which bizarrely included Walters testifying that he couldn't actually deny that Afroman had slept with Walters' wife, Afroman won. However, at trial, the judge dismissed Afroman's claims' against the deputies, and also split court costs between the parties. Afroman has announced that he is filing an appeal to those matters. Ther appeals process is a slow moving procedure, so there likely will not be an update to this matter for at least a year. We will keep you updated.
