Sadly, Ross 'The Boss' Friedman of The Dictators and Manowar has revealed that he has ALS. A statement read: "The diagnosis followed several months of seemingly unrelated symptoms that included weakness in his hands and legs. A series of very minor strokes was initially thought to have been the cause, but changes in diet, exercise and added physical therapy did nothing to slow the progression or increase his strength."Ross himself stated: ""It's difficult to know what lies ahead, and it crushes me not to be able to play guitar. But the outpouring of love has been so, so strong. I'm absolutely blown away by the love and support from family, friends and fans. I love you all."

It looks like after a period of inactivity, Ween is starting to gain momentum once again. They just announced two new releases and two reissues. They have announced the Brown Box which includes 10 cds: God Ween Satan: The Oneness, The Pod, Pure Guava, Chocolate and Cheese, 12 Golden Country Greats, The Mollusk, White Pepper, Quebec, Shinola, Vol. 1 and La Cucaracha. They are also releasing a new live album Bring Out the Foos: Live 1996 which is from their tour opening for Foo Fighters and is the final trek with Ween as a two piece band with a drum machine. Today marks the release of the new album by Black Viiolet, the neosoul project from Nicole Laurenne of The Darts. The album is called Dark Blue and features thirteen tracks that will transport you to a film noir-esque jazz club. The songs highlight Nicole’s knack for immersive storytelling both lyrically and sonically as she explores the complexities of love and relationships over an intoxicating blend of jazz, lounge, triphop, and pop. Along with original songs, Nicole also recorded her version of the jazz standard “Why Don’t You Do Right”. Speaking about the album, Nicole said, "I wrote most of this album while I was on long tours with The Darts and Black Viiolet around the world in 2024 and 2025. I was juggling two busy bands with crazy daily schedules, along with a new long-distance relationship. I was trying to make everything work, trying to make everyone happy, including myself. Some days were glorious and reached near-perfect harmony between big love and musical success, but a lot of the time was fraught with frustration, longing, and a bit of hopelessness that it could all work out in the end. This album reflects all of those moments, in one way or another." We caught up with Nicole to hear the stories behind each of the songs on Dark Blue.
