Price is no indication of quality, certainly not in the music industry, and definitely not in punk rock. “This Could Be Okay,” the new album from New York-based emo pop punk four-piece Cold Wrecks, is proof positive of that. Four tracks into this release I knew I’d be giving them my money despite the “pay what […]

Four tracks into this release I knew I’d be giving them my money despite the “pay what you want” price tag.
I highly recommend giving this album a listen below. I admit I’m only halfway through it as I write this post but I’ll go out on a limb and say my favorite track is “The Season.” Wow.
Here’s one from the more dynamic side of punk rock. Anaheim ska-punks Hooray for Our Side have released a new album appropriately titled “Everybody Love Everybody” and it’s as uplifting as the title implies. A fun listen for any fans of Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, etc. Check it out below. “Everybody Love Everybody” is the […]

The new split between Ontario based punk acts Snacks? and Audio Visceral may not break new ground in terms of genre defining styles but you wouldn’t be reading Dying Scene if you didn’t love punk rock just the way it is. What I can tell you is that the four songs on this release (2 from each band) will remind you exactly why you love it so much. The more melodic and polished songs from Snacks? are instantly catchy and they compliment the grittier Audio Visceral half well, making every track a standout track on this release. I highly recommend you give it a listen below.
Austrian mostly acoustic folk-punk act, Bastard Radio, have broken what appears to be a five year silence with the release of their new album “Boon&Bane” which I recommend you give a listen to below. Great for a quieter mood without losing any punk creds. “Boon&Bane” is the band’s first release since 2014’s “Sirens Of Truth” EP.
