Torture
Torture, out of Chicago, Illinois, is a band operating within the hardcore scene who make anti war slam-metal characterized by their “chuggy” breakdowns. Slam and hardcore have only crossed over a few times over the former genreās 30-year history, but Torture is pushing the genre threw new barriers ever since they hit the scene. Their new album, “Enduring Freedom” was released in 2023 as a solo project from the instrumentalist only known as K.K. The band is currently unsigned with K.K. expressing he wants to keep everything DIY. Torture draws on the aggressive brutality of hardcore and the technical complexity and gore fetishism of death metal to condemn the atrocities committed by the U.S. military in the Middle East after 9/11.
