Let Them Know: The Story Of Youth Brigade and BYO Records

byo3On September 22nd Youth Brigade will be releasing “Let Them Know: The Story Of Youth Brigade and BYO Records”.  Members of Youth Brigade have been running the independent punk record label, BYO Records, since 1982 and the release will include an audio, video, and written component all in tribute to the label and the punk scene.

The audio component will include 31 BYO catalog covers from some of the biggest names in punk rock (NOFX, Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise, 7 Seconds, The Bouncing Souls, Anti-Flag, Lagwagon, and Youth Brigade to name a few), the video component is a 90 minute documentary DVD, and the written component is some sort of coffee table book.

In the official announcement, BYO claims:

This boxed set celebrates the landmark of over 25 years for Youth Brigade, BYO Records and the Stern Brothers and reveals this too-often overlooked chapter in the rise of independent music specific to Los Angeles, which continues to be the epicenter of punk rock.

Youth Brigade is launching a Fall tour in support of the release and you can check out the Dying Scene Shows page.
