Bear with me a bit because this one is a little complicated.  Boston punk act Awful Man was originally supposed to release a split album with fellow Boston band Ex-Planets in 2015, but both bands broke up after procrastinating on that release, so the label canned it.  The members of Awful Man went on to form a new band, Life Hacks.  So when this new band were ready to release their first set of songs, they thought, “Why not put out a split release with the last songs from our former selves?”  And so the Life Hacks/Awful Man split was born.

Texas punks Knockin’ Chucks are streaming their latest release Can You Hear Me Knockin’?. The album harkens back to the early 90’s punk sound, amazing riffs and throaty vocals, all in all a pretty solid album top to bottom.

Texas pop-punks The Palatines have released a video for their song “Demons Whispering”. The song comes off the band’s latest album Death From Below, which was released this past March. The video features some footage of the fellas playing “Demons Whispering” in a very polished looking practice space.

Montreal melodic outfit These Fast Times have released a video for the song “Lights Too Loud” off of their upcoming début LP On the Other Side of Fear, which will be released July 20th through Thousand Island Records. If you’re a fan of late 80’s or early 90’s MTV music videos (remember when they played music?) you’ll definitely get a kick out of some dad’s living out some teenage dreams in front of a green screen.

The Wonder Years, who recently returned home from a full tour have announced a small spattering of shows as the band gears up for Riot Fest in Chicago. They will be bringing Hot Mulligan, Super Whatevr, as well as The Color and Sound along for the ride.

New Jersey-based independent label Don Giovanni Records has announced the start of a Kickstarter as a means to “create a bit of financial breathing room for the label.” Their announcement has made it clear that the project is not a fundraiser to help save the label but will allow them to pay off some debts and help them put out more projects.

They have several rewards set up for those willing to participate in the projects. Rewards will include CDs, LPs, posters, tote bags, t-shirts, etc.

Don Giovanni Records has put out albums by such bands as L7, RVIVR, Screaming Females, and The Ergs!, among many others.

PA-based political punk band Anti-Flag have announced the dates for their upcoming European tour. The tour includes some festival dates, including a few of their own ANTIfest dates.

They have also released a video for the song “Trouble Follows Me” which comes from their latest LP American Fall. The album was released last year via Spinefarm Records.

Ontario-based outfit The Dirty Nil have shared their latest single “Pain of Infinity.” The track is off their new album Master Volume which is due out on September 14 via Dine Alone Records. It is the follow-up to their 2017 release Minimum R&B.

They have also announced the dates for their upcoming North American tour in support of the album.
