Bear with me a bit because this one is a little complicated.  Boston punk act Awful Man was originally supposed to release a split album with fellow Boston band Ex-Planets in 2015, but both bands broke up after procrastinating on that release, so the label canned it.  The members of Awful Man went on to form a new band, Life Hacks.  So when this new band were ready to release their first set of songs, they thought, “Why not put out a split release with the last songs from our former selves?”  And so the Life Hacks/Awful Man split was born.

New Jersey-based independent label Don Giovanni Records has announced the start of a Kickstarter as a means to “create a bit of financial breathing room for the label.” Their announcement has made it clear that the project is not a fundraiser to help save the label but will allow them to pay off some debts and help them put out more projects.

They have several rewards set up for those willing to participate in the projects. Rewards will include CDs, LPs, posters, tote bags, t-shirts, etc.

Don Giovanni Records has put out albums by such bands as L7, RVIVR, Screaming Females, and The Ergs!, among many others.
