Big Scary Monsters Records have detailed the latest additions for their inaugural Big Day Out event, a 20 band strong day festival spread across three venues in East London. – Moth Club, Paper Dress Vintage and Hackney Empire Bar. The line up now includes TALONS, Happy Accidents, Nervus (Em solo), Gender Roles and Matt Emery, to add to previous announced acts Tangled Hair, Doe, Kagoule, Kamikaze Girls, Orchards, Bellevue Days, Fresh, Stephen H Davidson (Tellison), El Morgan and Natalie Evans.

Rise Against have just released a video for their track “Megaphone”. The tune features on the band’s 2017 record Wolves. 

Rise Against also have a new album in the pipeline. The Ghost Note Symphonies, Vol 1 will be comprised of orchestral and acoustic reworkings of select numbers from their back-catalogue. It’s due to be released on July 27.

Manchester-based singer/songwriter Carol Hodge is allowing fans to stream her latest work. The record is titled Hold on to that Flame and features eleven piano-driven, socio-political tunes.

Carol’s latest efforts might not be the punkiest thing we’ve ever covered on Dying Scene but she did collaborate with Crass vocalist Steve Ignorant on his Last Supper world tour – that’s pretty “punk”, right? She also sang for disco-punk four-piece Bad Taste Barbies.

Berkeley’s Mom Jeans are streaming their new album Puppy Love.  It’s ten songs full of crippling anxiety and fear of the future tightly wrapped in some indie emo punk. The last release was 2016’s Best Buds.

They have two album release shows planned, the first on July 20 in San Francisco which is already sold out, while tickets are still available for July 21 in Los Angeles. After that they are embarking on a huge tour of the US that starts in Santa Ana, CA in September and goes until the end of November.
