Southern California (I’ll save the abbreviation for the sort of monsters that also say things like “Frisco” and “Chi-town”) power-pop trio Odd Robot have premiered a lyric video for their single “Sell Your Soul.”

The song is off their just-announced upcoming album, “Amnesiatic,” due out August 3rd on Wiretap Records.

Odd Robot has recently played with Smoking Popes and Bad Cop/Bad Cop. You know they’re damn good to be keeping that kind of company. Their last full-length was their debut album, “A Late Night Panic,” released in 2017.

San Diego’s Fallen Monuments‘ “Conflicted” is hands-down one of my favorite songs this year. The song pairs a high-energy, straight-up punk rock sound with personal lyrics “…about a personal struggle where in the face of repeated failure, the heart refuses to give up on your dreams even though your head tells you it’s time to move on!”

“Conflicted” is off Fallen Monuments’ debut album, “Distance and Time,” which releases May 22nd digitally via bandcamp.

In proper DIY fashion, the album was written, recorded and produced by the band. The album shines as a work of catharsis, with the members of Fallen Monuments having endured tragedy, heartache, loss, and uncertainty, but coming together after nearly a decade apart to channel all their strife into a well-polished (but not over-produced), tight package of fierce guitar, driving rhythm, and powerful vocals.

Chicago’s best boy band, The Brokedowns, have premiered a new video for “Led Zeppelin III” off their upcoming album “Sick of Space,” which releases this Friday, May 18th.

D.O.A. exist within a special sphere of the punk rock universe; as part of a venerated old guard that have surfed the crests and valleys of punk rock populism and stayed the course over their 40 years. Joey and the guys are set to kick off a 3 month party in honor of their 40th year as a band, and to unleash their 17th studio album, Fight Back. Check out the listed dates below.

A punk rock band turning 40 is cause for celebration, and this tour promises some serious revelery. Joining the hockey-headed heroes of D.O.A. will be none other than Kevin Seconds, and MDC. The tour kicks off May 21st in Salt Lake City, and meanders across the continent, wrapping up in August in British Columbia. The band has unannounced east coast dates coming up in July, check Dying Scene for updates once those dates become available.

偏執症者 (Paranoid) are a Swedish band that mix classic Swedish d-beat with manic Japanese style punk and a bit of metal. The first time I heard them I wasn’t sure. However their last 7″ Praise No Deity was brilliant as it was far more d-beat than anything else. Give it a listen here.

The band are streaming a brand new song called “Jikangire”. The track is from their upcoming album Heavy Mental Fuck Up and also a 3 track 12″ maxi single, available on June 29th through The Sign Records (EUR) and Konton Crasher (US).

The track is streaming on spotify and you can listen to it here. It moves a bit too far away from that Swedish d-beat I love but give it a listen and see what you think.

Denton, TX ska punk act The Holophonics are now streaming their new album “Phantom Arrival.”

Their last news was a release of a music video for their song “Escape Velocity” which is featured on the new album. In addition to the video, the band also announced a new tour that kicked off with an album release show in Dallas.  You can check out all those dates and locations, the new album, as well as the video below.
