Denton, TX ska-punks The Holophonics have set up a kickstarter for their next album. They’ve posted a new song, “Sleepwalker” in the updates.

For three bucks, you can get a download of a previous album of your choice, and for five, you get a download of the upcoming album. There are lots of other reward tiers including t-shirts, CDs, vinyl, stickers, your name on the list for any/all shows, and even your own song for $300. You can check out the song in the updates, and make a pledge on the campaign page.

Gainesville pop punks Sports Reference just released a new three track EP entitled Somewhere Else via Canadian DIY label Emocat Records and they sent the debut music video from the album over to stream exclusively for DS readers! When asked about the video for the single “Doctor Everest”, the fantastic Floridians told us “It was made with the mindset of light-heartedly showing how much fun is had at shows. We decided to make it a little far-fetched, involve a lot of our friends and our favorite Gainesville venue (The Hardback Cafe), and just have a good time.”. The Damned have released “Standing On the Edge of Tomorrow,” the first single off their upcoming album, “Evil Spirits.” The album will be out on April 13th and will be their first since 2008.

Anti-Flag has premiered a video for “Finish What We Started,” a song off their newest album, “American Fall.” The band is currently on tour.

I just caught their show in St. Paul last week, and it was pretty great. I’m not their biggest fan, but they (and all the other bands) put on a great show. I went to the show and drank beer for science; I hadn’t seen them live since the Death of a Nation tour with Against Me! and None More Black back in 2003 or 04, and I was curious to see what an Anti-Flag show would be like today. Hopefully I’ll have some words on that by the end of the week.

Montreal based 24/7 radio streaming service Punk Rock Radio is up and running in the great white North. The service which also includes this handy-dandy app which you can download here. Chris Bro started the service back in May of last year.

The service started out with the simple concept of providing Canadians with a much needed punk rock radio station. As a Canadian I can tell you finding somewhere to listen to punk music that 1. you don’t already own and 2. gives you more variation than the endless supply of Spotify playlists featuring the staples of every band. Once in a while I like to get outside my comfort zone and that’s what PunkRockRadio.ca brings.

Spanish songwriter Dani Llamas, will release his third solo album Dead Labor on February 14th. The LP, previously released for free to subscribers of Joey Cape’s One Week Records last year, will be formally released by both OWR as well as French based indie label Kicking Records (preorders up on both Kicking Records’ and OWR’s websites). When asked about his involvement with the album, Old Man Caper said “Occasionally I am handed a record that strikes me immediately but, it takes another listen or two before I fully absorb it. Some of these records become records I love and revisit throughout my life. I hear something special right away but, after I get to know it better, there is a deeper connection to the songs and the album as a whole. Many of these albums have a great influence on even my own music. This was and is the case with Dani Llamas’ album Dead Labor”. Parisian punk act Youth Avoiders are streaming the first track from their upcoming album Relentless. The track is called “Between Disparate Lines” and you can listen to it below. The album is due out in April on Destructure and Build Me A Bomb Records and is the follow up to their 2016 release Spare Parts.
