French melodic hardcore skatepunks The Fatswines have a name-your-price EP you need

Ever since I started writing for DyingScene.com, I’ve been exposed to a lot of rad European takes on the EpiFat sound. The Fatswines are the newest on my list of European bandcamp purchases. Their latest EP, “All The Fatswines,” is name-your-price on bandcamp. It’s definitely worth a listen, and if you like it, be a […]

Their latest EP, “All The Fatswines,” is name-your-price on bandcamp. It’s definitely worth a listen, and if you like it, be a champ and head to their bandcamp page and throw them some Euro funmoney. In the meantime, check out “All The Fatswines” below.

Just be nice and don’t tell them that the plural for “swine” is “swine.” [Read more…]

GBH premiere “Liquid Paradise (The Epic)” ahead of new album

Classic UK punks GBH have released another song from their upcoming album, “Momentum.” The album will release this Friday via Hellcat Records. Check out the song below! Always cool to see some of the older bands from the UK (or anywhere, for that matter) like GBH and The Adicts still active.

PUP recording a new album?

PUP recording a new album?

PUP seems to have revealed that they are starting work on a new album. Yesterday the band tweeted, “starting pre-production on a new record tomorrow?” So there you go? I don’t know? Here’s a link to the tweet so you can ask them yourself? Their last release was 2016’s “The Dream Is Over.”

Warped Tour kind of sort of ending after 2018

Warped Tour kind of sort of ending after 2018

Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman has announced that 2018 will be the final Warped Tour, except for some sort of anniversary thing in 2019. You can check out the official statement at Warped’s site. Kevin also did an interview with Billboard that has some pretty interesting bits of Warped history and Lyman’s takes on ticket sales and demographics.

I went to Warped once, in 2000 at the Metrodome parking lot in Minneapolis. It was a great way to see a lot of bands I probably wouldn’t ever have a chance to see any other way (hurray being a teenager in the upper Midwest!). Green Day after “Nimrod,” before “Warning,” Suicide Machines, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, No Doubt (meh), Long Beach Dub All-Stars, AFI, NOFX, Millencolin, and fucking Lit. Holy shit, remember Lit? Pretty sure the front man had a hissy fit when he broke a string. Goddamn. I feel like I need a shower. Anyway.

I never felt an urge to go back. As a teenager with a shitty attitude (I was a unicorn, I know), I didn’t want to be around a bunch of other shitty teenagers. And the older I get, I still don’t want to be surrounded by shitty teenagers. Plus, I’m too busy defaulting on my student loan payments by spending my money avocado toast and buttchugging whiskey or whatever the hell your angry uncle will say about millenials next week.

Regardless of my feelings, this is still a bummer. Warped was a great way for kids to see bands they wouldn’t otherwise get to see (re: midwest). Though the tour is apparently not pulling in teens like it used to, it’s too bad some kids won’t get that chance. But who knows, maybe the final tour and whatever goes down in 2019 will pull in enough to make it viable again, or maybe someone else will take over.

“Daylily” is taken from the band’s debut album Feel Something, which was released on October 20, 2017 via Fearless Records. On the inspiration for the song lead singer Patrick Miranda stated: “My current girlfriend is the inspiration for this song. [During her ongoing treatment for mental illness] there would be a lot of bad days, but there would also be good days. She called the good ones her ‘pink cloud days.’ When she was going through another tough time last year I wrote this song for her.”
