Actor Observer project what’s lost and found in ‘Fool’s Gold’ music video

When someone lends a band a major platform — a stage a Boston Calling, for instance — most folks would opine that the performers have an obligation to say something meaningful while their voice is elevated. But long after storming the Tivoli Orange Stage at this year’s edition of the festival, Actor Observer are still blasting their message. In a pointed new music video for “Fool’s Gold,” the Boston hardcore band repurposes footage from their Boston Calling set, using a […]

Flogging Molly's Portland show cancelled due to 'credible threat'

Flogging Molly’s show on Tuesday, August 29 at the Roseland Theater was cancelled after a threat was made against the theater. A statement written by the band and posted on the venue’s Instagram page reads, ”Due to a credible threat of violence in relation of tonight’s concert, we regrettably have to cancel tonight’s show. The safety of our fans, crew, venue staff, bandmates and friends is our first priority, and we look forward to coming back to Portland to play for you as soon as we can. If you are already at the venue please return home and if you have not yet departed for the show please do not come to the venue. Stay safe, Flogging Molly.” The caption to the post has been updated to read, ”This statement was revised and re-posted to illustrate the threat was specific to tonight’s show and not an ongoing threat against the venue. We felt an obligation to communicate during an urgent situation and regretfully did not make it clear that the threat was specific to tonight.” Tickets are being automatically refunded. Details of the threat have not been made public at this time. This show was part of their ongoing US tour. Adam Driver sees a lot of red in the ‘Ferrari’ teaser

As if on cue, Michael Mann has arrived to help you rinse that Gran Turismo aftertaste out of your metaphorical mouth. It’s been a good long while since Mann’s had a film chambered — Blackhat, back in 2015, alienated audiences and delighted real heads — but he’s back with Ferrari, a biopic of the man behind the Black Stallion logo, whose name is synonymous with precision, style and speed, at least in the automotive sphere. Adam Driver’s in the lead, […]

It’s been a long time coming, but Washington DC-based melodic punks American Television are juuuuust about to release a new album called Scars, and Dying Scene are fired up to bring you the latest video from that very release!

Today’s DS Exclusive is the video for the brand-new track, “Bittersweet.” The clip was shot and edited by Mike Watkins of Matched Set Productions, and while we presume that it was filmed in and around the DC suburbs, it really could have taken place in any office park anywhere (including the one I used to work in!).

Here’s what the crew had to say about the track and the accompanying video:

“Bittersweet” is a song about the one-sided relationship that is working for a corporation. You give and give and give, and then are just chewed up and spit out. But of course you always show back up on Monday morning. When we were brainstorming video concepts for this song, we wanted to avoid having the band be central to the storyline. It was incredible that almost everyone we know with skills and talents that go well beyond our abilities wanted to be part of this shoot. Everyone gave 100% and because of that, we were able to create a great narrative inspired by 90s music video nostalgia. It’s exactly what we had hoped for.”

Scars is the follow-up to American Television’s 2020 debut full-length, Watch It Burn. It’s out September 22nd on SmartPunk Records. Pre-orders are still available. Check out the video for “Bittersweet” below!
