Michael Christmas whets our appetite with new single ‘PUBLIX’

In Massachusetts, we don’t say “I love you.” We say “GET THE BREAD! GET THE MILK!” And now, we can add to our winter salutation: “GET THE NEW MICHAEL CHRISTMAS SONG!” The Boston rapper has released a tune called “PUBLIX,” which is currently the closest thing New England has to the U.S. supermarket chain. Christmas’ latest song arrived earlier this week (February 2), a few days after its original release date, which ironically aligns with its nonchalant ethos. “I got […]

Michale Graves announces acoustic and spoken word tour

Michale Graves formerly of the Misfits has announced a 55 date USA tour. He'll be playing acoustic, doing spoken word, and doing a Q+A. The tour runs march to may. As you may recall, Graves previously announced on social media that he was a "proud boy" and "Western Chauvinist." He was at the January 6 insurrection and even testified at hearing related to crimes committed that day by Proud Boys. As you likely know, trump later pardoned nearly all of the people convicted for crimes related to trying overthrow the government on January 6. Since then, Graves has struggled with venues canceling his shows due to community opposition. You can see the dates below. Graves has had nothing to do with the Misfits since he left the band in 2000.

Interviews: Talking 'III' with Luke of BRICKIE

BRICKIE’s third EP, aptly named III, flies by in a flurry of rage and hope. The Montreal-based quartet kick out four of their most urgent and energizing tracks to date, which find them ripping into eco-capitalism, talking about ongoing (and live-streamed) genocide, and celebrating the joy of connection with visual lyrics over power pop-infused punk rock. III provides listeners a place to vent frustrations at the state of the world while also reminding us of the importance of beauty, wonder, and community. III will be out on February 6 and BRICKIE will be celebrating with a record release show that night at P’tit Ours in Montreal with Chop Sue Me and Squarehead. The band will be playing Pouzza Fest in Montreal in May. Punknews editor Em Moore caught up with lead vocalist and guitarist Luke Ottenhof to talk about the EP, being inspired by Chico Mendes, retaining a sense of wonder amid the horror, and so much more. Read the interview below! This interview between Em Moore and Luke Ottenhof took place on January 21, 2026 over Zoom. What follows is a transcription of their conversation that has been lightly edited for length and clarity.

Metric play the 2000s challenge with ‘Victim Of Luck’

While we’re all out here playing the 2016 challenge, going back a decade before everything truly went to shit, Metric are taking the nostalgia leap a bit further. The veteran indie band announced a new album called Romanticize The Dive, out April 24 on Thirty Tigers, and with it comes a shimmering jolt of hopeful aughts-pop with lead single “Victim of Luck,” transporting us back to the band’s early days of the 2000s, when dead discos, combative babies, and quests […]
