Distillers cancel June shows

The Distillers have cancelled their upcoming June shows which were set to take place in the UK and Europe. A statement released on their Instagram page reads in part, Hi Loves, I am deeply sorry that the planned tour dates in June have to be cancelled. I understand this message will be upsetting and disappointing to many, and you are right to be upset, especially those who have been waiting a long time to see us and those who have made plans to travel. My personal circumstances have made it impossible for me to go on tour at this time and after the previous Covid related postponements, it’s not feasible to move these shows again. I know we will tour Europe in the future, sooner than later, but right now I couldn’t give you what you deserve and you deserve the best from me. I hope you can forgive me. In the meantime, I made this little movie for you. More to come….”The Distillers released their live album Live in Lockdown in 2021 and their single Man Vs. Magnet / Blood In Gutters in 2018. Haiku Hands drop a beat for all our nightlife moods with ‘Nunchucka’

Haiku Hands‘ new single “Nunchucka” seems poised to strike all three. Out today (May 8) via Spinning Top Records, an offshoot of the management company behind Tame Impala, the pulsating club banger arrives complete with video directed by Triana Hernandez (Amyl and […]

Shoot Straight: One Fall win the 2023 Rock and Roll Rumble

Let historians mark May 6, 2023 as a rare coinciding of coronations: King Charles III in the United Kingdom, and here off the shores of the Charles River, One Fall at the Rock and Roll Rumble. After a years-long hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, the final round of the time-honored Boston rock competition rumbled to life last night at Sonia with a tight clash among Ruin The Nite, The Chelsea Curve, and One Fall — Vanyaland‘s unofficial prediction for winner […]

American Football buys the house featured on their self-titled debut album

American Football along with Polyvinyl Records, Atiba Jefferson, Chris Strong, and Open House Contemporary have teamed up to buy the house that is featured on American Football’s 1999 self-titled idebut album. Polyvinyl Records released a statement regarding the purchase of the house on their website that reads in part, ”Built in 1893, the home has become a historical monument to not only the band, but every fan who's listened to their era-defining debut that established its quaint facade as iconic midwest imagery. When we heard in the fall of 2022 that the house was for sale, we made a pact with our friends to protect the house from developers and likely demolition. A few days ago, we held true to this promise and formally signed the closing papers, preserving both the space and its unique legacy within the community that shaped its existence. […]When American Football reunited in 2016, their long-awaited LP2 cover donned the house's interior staircase and invited fans inside by revisiting breakout track "Never Meant" with an official music video shot within its hallowed walls. The song's jangly opening riff is as recognizable as the house itself having been meme'd into infamy. Besides being a literal home to its many tenants throughout the years, The American Football House has come to represent a nostalgic dream of possibility and the beauty of the beginning. We could not let that dream go.” American Football released their second self-titled album, American Football in 2019. Check out the statement in full below.
