Sprints release live video for "Literary Mind"

Sprints have released a live video for their song “Literary Mind”. The video was filmed live at Whelan’s in Dublin, Ireland, and was edited by Jonathan Murphy. The live version of the song is out now via City Slang Records and “Literary Mind” was originally released as a single in 2022. Sprints released Sprints Back Catalogue LP in 2022 (a collection of their 2020 single “The Cheek”, 2021 EP Manifesto, and 2022 EP A Modern Job). Check out the video below.

Videos: Meet Me @ The Altar: "Kool"

Meet Me @ The Altar have released a video for their new song “Kool”. The video was directed by Sydney Ostrander. The song is off their upcoming debut album Past // Present // Future which will be out March 10 via Fueled By Ramen Records. Meet Me @ The Altar will be touring North America starting in March and released their EP Model Citizen in 2021. Check out the video below.

Festivals & Events: MxPx, Turnstile, Bane, Thursday, Scowl, more to play Furnace Fest 2023

Furnace Fest has announced its lineup for this year. MxPx, Turnstile, Bane, Pennywise, Thursday, Bouncing Souls, Scowl, Zulu, Knuckle Puck, No Trigger, Sparta, Anxious, The Bronx, Gorilla Biscuits, Mindforce, Terror, The Callous Daoboys, Militarie Gun, and Taking Meds are among the bands announced. Furnace Fest will take place September 22-24 at Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. Check out the lineup in full below.

Festivals & Events: No More Dysphoria Fest announces lineup

The lineup for the fifth annual No More Dysphoria Fest has been announced. Hit Like A Girl, Petal, Spring SIlver, Lisa, Crooks and Nannies, Sonagi, Witching, Space Camp, Lastima, and Gre/Ay will be playing the festival. The flyer was created by Stacy Oviedo. Proceeds from the festival will go to No More Dysphoria, the non-profit organization run by Nicolle Maroulis of Hit Like A Girl that helps transgender people and gender nonconforming people with their transitions. No More Dysphoria Fest will take place May 6-7 at the Ukie Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Interviews: Heading 'North to the Future' with Joram Zbichorski of Rust Ring

Chicago-based emo punks Rust Ring are just days away from releasing their superb second album North to the Future. Named after the state motto of Alaska, the album chronicles a fictional trip up north and explores identity, sexuality, and gender, as well as highlighting the importance of working through self-doubt with image-laden lyrics full of heart and humour. Rust Ring will be hitting the road for a handful of Midwest shows on February 23 and North to the Future will be out everywhere on February 24 via Knifepunch Records. Punknews editor Em Moore caught up with lead vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist Joram Zbichorski over Zoom to discuss the new album, embracing a new style of songwriting, adding two new members to the band, her thoughts on the magic of winter, and so much more.
