DS Band Spotlight: Introducing international punk rock duo When The Walls Fell

When The Walls Fell is a transatlantic punk band that blends in-your-face street punk with upbeat, melodic pop-punk and ripping guitar leads. And while that may sound like it shouldn’t work, it most certainly does. The project is the brainchild of two primary members; Queens, New York’s Jim Rundle records guitar, bass, and drums while […]

And while that may sound like it shouldn’t work, it most certainly does. The project is the brainchild of two primary members; Queens, New York’s Jim Rundle records guitar, bass, and drums while Poole, England’s Ross Sutcliffe takes the lead on vocals.

My friends at Punk Rock Radar recently turned me on to these guys and their killer new album Build Back Better. Listen for yourself below and head over to Bandcamp and kick a few bucks their way for the digital download. Don’t forget to tell ’em your friends at Dying Scene sent ya!

Break-ups: Boring Girls announce break up

Montreal-based punk rockers Boring Girls have announced that they are disbanding. Lead vocalist Carolina Plano (who we interviewed last year) released a statement on the band’s Instagram page which reads in part, ”Carolina here, the sappy opinions expressed in this post are my own only. Alas and alack, Boring Girls is no more. This project meant so much to me, it was my first time being part of a band and it was a teenage dream come true. We put out 3 EPs, played a baker's dozen shows with some really badass bands, met really great people and made new friends! I learned and had so much fun doing this the last few years and I will miss it so, so much. Thank you to everyone who booked us to play a show, all the bands we were lucky to share the stage with, everyone who took the time to play our music on your show or wrote about us on your platform, everyone who came to see us, bought some merch and had kind words for us! Thank you to @tarantulatapes for releasing our third (and now last) EP, it means so much that you welcomed us as part of your cassette family and I appreciate you! RIP Boring Girls 2019-2023.”Boring Girls formed in 2019 and released three EPs – Hello, Hell No in 2020, Bad Mammal in 2021, and Fuck You So Much in 2022. See the post in full below.

Watch the ‘Tetris’ trailer before the next piece completes the row and makes it disappear

We’re pretty sure that Apple TV+ could have just reused the tagline for Stanley Kubrick’s Lolita to describe their latest film release: How did they ever make a movie out of Tetris? It’s also pretty fitting that our culture is looser morally and infantilized enough now to say that about a video game instead of a Nabokov masterpiece, but that’s neither here nor there (put down the pitchforks, nerds, we’re just joking around). What is fitting is that, out of […]

Revenge is a dish best served by the ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ trailer

One thing we love about the John Wick movies is that they’re patently goofy as fuck — let’s be real, these movies wouldn’t be too out of place in the mid-aughts, albeit with a little more nu-metal on the soundtrack and maybe Jon Favreau in the supporting cast — and we’re pumped that the fourth (and supposedly final) installment is doubling down on that inherent silliness. Case in point, this brand-new “final trailer” for John Wick: Chapter 4, which looks […]
