The Dirty Nil: "Rock N' Roll Band"

The Dirty Nil have released a new song. It is called “Rock N’ Roll Band” and is off their upcoming record The Lash which will be out on July 25 via Dine Alone Records. The Dirty Nil will be touring Canada in September and will be touring Europe with Spanish Love Songs in October. The Dirty Nil released their album Free Rein To Passions in 2023. Polaris Music Prize announces long list

The Polaris Music Prize has announced this year’s long list. The list is made up of 40 Canadian albums which were selected out of 189 records by the 205-person jury. Only Dust Remains by Backxwash, All of your anger is actually shame (and I bet that makes you angry) by Gloin, SORRY IT’S OVER by The OBGMs, Bite Down by Ribbon Skirt, Maintenant James by Population II, RED FUTURE by Snotty Nose Rez Kids, From the Heights of Our Pastureland by Yoo Doo Right, Verbathim by Nemahsis, Dunya by Mustafa, All Wild Things Are Shy by Richard Laviolette, Blurring Time by Bells Larsen, Dan’s Boogie by Destroyer, and Light for the Midnight by Cold Specks are among the albums nominated.The 10 album short list will be announced on July 10 and the Polaris Gala (where the winner will be announced) will take place on September 16 at Massey Hall in Toronto, Ontario. Past winners of the Polaris Music Prize include Jeremy Dutcher, Backxwash, Tanya Tagaq, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Fucked Up. Check out the video announcing the full list below.

Walter Mitty and His Makeshift Orchestra announce album, share "Omfg" video

Walter Mitty and His Makeshift Orchestra has announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Yikes Almighty and will be out on July 18 via Lauren Records. The album was originally shared as a single cassette that was buried in the desert. The band has released a video for their new song “Omfg” which was directed by Patrick VanZandt and Nick La Marca. Mvll Crimes: "GWEN STVCEY"

Mvll Crimes have released a new song called “GWEN STVCEY”. The song marks the band’s return after a year-long hiatus and is available digitally now. Mvll Crimes will be playing a handful of shows around Ontario this summer including R4A Fest in Toronto on July 11. Mvll Crimes released their live record Sled Island 2023 in 2024 and released their EP YOU EMBVRRVSS ME in 2022. Check out the song and dates below.

Tours: Turnstile announce fall US tour

Turnstile have announced US tour dates for this fall. Amyl and the Sniffers, SPEED, Jane Remover, Mannequin Pussy, and Blood Orange will be joining them on select dates. The trek begins on September 15 in Nashville, Tennessee and wraps up on October 19 in Orlando, Florida. Turnstile released their album Never Enough earlier this month. Check out the dates below.
