Sundiver: "Black Cloud"

BC-based punk rockers Sundiver have released a video for their new song “Black Cloud”. The video was created by the band. Speaking about the song, lead vocalist Tom said, ”’Black Cloud’, like a lot of the songs I write, is primarily about my experience with major depressive disorder. This song specifically is about a feeling of looming depression, how it shades subjective perception, & how even when I'm not in a specific depressive episode, I know it's hovering nearby, ready to blot out the sun at a moment's notice. The song doesn't sound half as miserable as my description does though. It's more of a triumphant defiance of sorrow, than it is surrendering to it. It's about resilience, & weathering the storm – brighter days & all that. I like to think it's not overly morose.” The song is available digitally now. Sundiver released their EP How to Live With Yourself in 2025. Check out the video below.

R-Patz is Chris Hansen in the ‘Primetime’ teaser

Well, let’s just go ahead and say that we didn’t have this on our 2026 bingo card. That headline is completely and totally accurate: the one and only Robert Pattinson will be playing Dateline NBC investigative journalist and host Chris Hansen, famed for creating the “To Catch a Predator” segment, in Primetime, the first narrative feature directed by acclaimed documentarian Noah Oppenheim. If that name sounds familiar, it’s probably because you watched Ren Faire on HBO, which he created and […]

Listen to the new EP by Carlos theChords and read a track-by-track breakdown!

Today, we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new EP by New York-based singer and guitarist Carlos theChords! The EP is called shootin’ stars behind closed eyes and blends reggae, punk, and alt-rock together to create three tracks that will have you returning for repeat listens. The songs are called “shootin’ stars behind closed eyes”, “theintent222”, and “magic breath”. Speaking to Punknews about the EP, Carlos said, "'shootin’ stars behind closed eyes' is a three-song punk/reggae/ska EP I wrote in 2024. These genres have shaped my sound for a long time, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to create, record, release, and perform these songs live. Musically, I draw deep inspiration from ’90s punk bands like Bad Religion, ’70s–’80s reggae pioneers like Bob Marley, and genre-blending NYHC groups such as Rebelmatic. These artists have influenced me not only musically and lyrically, but personally as well. With support and recommendation from Creech (Rebelmatic, Creaturenomics), Ramsey Jones (Rebelmatic, MAAFA, Phunky Nomads) contributed drums, bass, and backing vocals. Notably, during a four-hour recording session for the EP, Ramsey created all the bass lines and backing vocals, having learned the songs in a rehearsal session just two days prior.” We also caught up with Carlos to hear the stories behind each of the three songs. shootin’ stars behind closed eyes will be out everywhere on May 29. Listen to the EP and read the track-by-track breakdown below! Listen to shootin' stars behind closed eyesright here
