Mass Nerder was ALL’s first release on Epitaph, following their very brief yet tumultuous stint on major label Interscope Records. This is one of four studio albums featuring the band’s longest tenured singer Chad Price on vocals.

This record also features my favorite ALL song “I’ll Get There” (“Until I Say So” is a very close second). Go ahead and hop in a pop-punk time machine back to the Summer ’98 with this stone cold classic:

East Bay ska-punks Omnigone have announced their new album Against the Rest, due out March 31st on Bad Time Records. The 15-song LP is the band’s second full-length release, following their 2019 debut No Faith. Check out the music video for the lead single (the album’s title track) below and pre-order the record here.

Omnigone’s core lineup includes two former members of Link 80, guitarist/vocalist Adam Davis and bassist Barry Krippene. Against the Rest sees the duo joined by a cast of musicians from bands like Rx Bandits, Flying Racoon Suit and Kitty Kat Fan Club. Suicide Machines singer Jason Navarro makes a guest appearance on track #2 “Communities in Collaboration”.

Catch the band on the Bad Time Records Tour this spring. They’ll be playing with labelmates We Are The Union, Catbite and Kill Lincoln at most of the tour’s west coast stops.

Ska legends Fishbone have signed to Fat Wreck imprint Bottles To The Ground, with plans to release a new EP later this year. It was produced by Fat Mike and features most of the band’s original lineup. The lead single “All We Have Is Now” is streaming now and is also included on the label’s brand new sampler compilation Bottle Music for Broken People, which you can get on vinyl here.

NOFX frontman Fat Mike and Get Dead singer Sam King’s genre-bending supergroup Codefendants have announced their debut album This is Crimewave. The LP is set to release on March 24th through the recently launched Fat Wreck Chords imprint Bottles To The Ground.

They just released a music video for the latest single “Def Cons” and announced a spring US tour. Check all that out below and pre-order the record here.

This is Crime Wave features guest appearances from legendary rapper The D.O.C, as well as Stacey Dee of Bad Cop / Bad Cop and Seattle’s Onry Ozzborn. Four of the album’s 10 tracks have been released as part of an ongoing episodic music video series.

Japanese punks Hi-Standard have announced their drummer Akira Tsuneoka has passed away at the age of 51. The band posted the following statement on social media:

“Dear fans and friends,

With deep and profound sadness, we inform you of the untimely passing of our beloved friend and drummer Akira Tsuneoka of Hi-STANDARD.

His music and spirit will live on in our hearts. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and the members of Hi-STANDARD during this difficult time.”

Tsuneoka was a founding member of Hi-Standard in 1991 and he remained with the band until his untimely passing. The three-piece rose to prominence in the late 90’s after signing to Fat Wreck Chords. The label has released their own statement in response to the news:

“Today, we mourn the untimely death of Akira Tsuneoka, a beloved member of the band Hi-STANDARD, and a treasured member of the FAT family. Tsune will be remembered for his incredible talent, infectious enthusiasm, and genial spirit. As a founding member of Hi-STANDARD, he was a driving force behind the band’s success. He captivated live audiences with his passion and perfection on stage. He will be dearly missed by family, friends, and fans. Our hearts go out to all those touched by his life and music.”

We’ll be keeping Akira’s family, friends, and bandmates in our thoughts.

Musical Monkey was released in 1997 on Nitro Records. The album spawned fan favorites like “Lucky the Donkey”, “Do the Hustle”, “Lipstick” and many other songs that would likely get Mark Adkins cancelled if they were released today.

The Cup of Pestilence is Frenzal Rhomb’s 10th LP and the first to feature their newest member, bassist Michael “Dal” Dallinger (ex-Local Resident Failure). Like the band’s last two albums, 2017’s Hi Vis High Tea and 2011’s Smoko At The Pet Food Factory, it was recorded at the fabled Blasting Room.

British ska-punks Faintest Idea have announced their new album The Road to Sedition will be released on March 31st through TNS Records and Jump Start Records. Check out the first single “Nose Dive” below and pre-order the record here (US) or here (UK).

The Road to Sedition will be the band’s first new album in 7 years, following 2016’s Increasing the Minimum Rage. The LP promises to deliver more of the “rage-fueled stomping infused with a good measure of bouncy ska” these guys are known for.

Faintest Idea will be touring the US for the first time ever this April with ska legends like The Slackers, The Pietasters and Fishbone. Peep the dates below while you’re listening that new track.

East Bay punk veterans Samiam have announced Stowaway, their first new album in over a decade, will be released on March 31st through Pure Noise Records.

They’ve released a music video for the new single “Crystallized”. Check it below, along with the previously premiered “Lights Out, Little Hustler”.
