Well holy hell, boys and girls; hell, it would seem, has frozen over…Avail are back!

In spite of years of insisting it wouldn’t happen, the ground-breaking Richmond, Virginia band are reassembling for a 21st anniversary show in honor of their 1998 album Over The James. The gig will feature the original OTJ-eralineup of Tim Barry, Joe Banks, Beau Beau, Gwomper, and Erik Larson. It marks the first Avail show in more than eleven years and that particular lineup’s first show together in what I’m pretty sure is more like 19 or 20 years. It’s all going down  Friday, July 19th at The National in their hometown of Richmond, and features support from Iron Reagan and Asylum. Tickets are on sale this coming Friday (March 29th) at 10am Eastern at this here link, so plan your sick time accordingly.

Over The James was initially released on April 7, 1998, on Lookout Records, and was later released by Jade Tree a couple years later. Avail’s final release was their 2002 Fat Wreck Chords full-length Front Porch Stories. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for more of these dates in the very, very near future. If I were a betting man…

Gnarlytown: Bikes, Boards & Bands, a new festival featuring he ultimate mashup of action sports, punk rock, and craft beer tasting has announced it will be taking place on Saturday June 22nd at LA Waterfront Berth 46 at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, CA.

The lineup will include Pennywise, Rancid, Off!, Madball, Action Bronson, and more.  You can check out all the details of the festival here.

Ontario-based outfit The Dirty Nil are streaming two Led Zeppelin covers, which comes from their recent Live From Saturday Night Livestream.

The Offspring guitarist and lead singer Dexter Holland recently gave Kerrang! an update on their new album. Dexter stated:

“It sounds like our old shit! That’s what I’m supposed to say, right? I don’t really know how to describe it. I guess it’s punk rock, but then we throw in a couple of songs that aren’t what you’d normally predict. We have a lot of really fast stuff on there, plus a couple of things that you might not really expect from us. But I’m really really happy with it. It’s not completely finished, but it is 98% finished. So we’re trying to put together a plan to release it.

The follow-up to 2012’s Days Go By is reportedly set for release later this year, and Noodles said a while ago that they were working on two albums, though it’s not clear if it will result in separate or double album(s).

It looks like Ben Weinman of The Dillinger Escape Plan is becoming a full time member of California punk rock icons Suicidal Tendencies.  After filling in on guitar at their live shows, Ben has now been recording with the band.

California punk act Charger, featuring Matt Freeman of Rancid, have announced that they have have plans to release their debut 12″ EP/CD via Pirates Press Records later this year.

We will be sure to keep you updated once we hear more details on this release, and hopefully we can all listen to what is sure to be some awesome music from this project soon!

Belgium’s environmentally-conscious punk rock extravaganza, Brakrock Ecofest, has just announced another round of new bands to it’s summer 2019 lineup.  The new bands include some classic punk acts, as well as some up-and-comers, including Poison Idea, DOA, DI, Antillectual, Buster Shuffle, St. Plaster, We Outspoken, and Blackup.
