From Louisville, KY- for fans interested in a melodic blend of soulful punk rock with a definitive southern charm, we have for you, today, the new album from Nowhere FastAeonian. Nowhere Fast is a thriving young mid-western band that has just made good on putting together an exceptional album which Dying Scene has the stream for, days before the official release this Friday, October 5, 2018.

Aeonian is the band’s first album since their 2013 release, Trials, and they have spent that time dedicated to their craft in the studio, playing shows with great acts like The Bouncing Souls, The Ataris, Teenage Bottlerocket, and Cobra Skulls, and honing in on enhancing their live-performance, touring the Midwest and East Coast.

Aeonian is a wonderful collection of songs about identity straight from the heartland of America. This is music for the drive home. It opens with “Dark Towns” and lead singer/guitarist Seth Robinson alluding to the “small details in your story… [to] round out the wild blue yonder. It’s just another night in these dark towns. Just another night in these last rounds. Here’s to the let downs.” The band has previously said of the album, that it is their “most mature and nuanced work to date,” and I couldn’t agree more. Nowhere Fast is a three-piece: bass, drums, and guitar- sweet and to the point, (the perfect rock and roll arrangement for a more intimate act, IMO) and they incorporate simple song-structure with musical dynamism where you can get lost in the rocking and alluring amiability of Seth’s guitar playing, or the rhythm of Steve Keely’s bass flow winding through your stereo cables as drummer, Phil DiMarco keeps time with his poppy embrace, all while the wholesome and seductive qualities of Seth Robinson’s enrapturing vocal leads help to pack your bags for you and place you on a train to Kentucky to go and meet him.

For fans of Elvis Costello and The Hold Steady, Nowhere Fast is a sexy, slowed-down rock and roll band that belongs under the lights. Aeonian is produced by ex-Swellers singer/guitarist Nick Diener who has done an excellent job capturing those tricky subtleties in the digital sound that make recording a good, live rock and roll band so difficult. Here’s some songs to meet your next boyfriend or girlfriend to. Enjoy! Stream Aeonian below.

It’s called “I Will Be,” and it was taken from the recording sessions for their last studio album, last year’s Light It Up. It’s a pretty solid banger with some pretty deep-feeling emotions on the lyrical side…so, pretty much classic Hot Water Music! Check it out at all the usual places (iTunes, Spotify, etc). or head below!

Introducing Melodic-Post-Hardcore Act: Searching For Relief

If you like a dash of melody with your hardcore, or a little screaming with your skate punk, or a little rock n roll swagger to your screamo. If from time to time you like to deviate a smidge from the norms of your beloved punk sub-genres, I invite you to step into the fuzzy world of melodic-post-progressive-noise-screamo-[insert ambiguity]-punk with Dutch five piece Searching For Relief. Their brand new EP “Postcard” just hit my inbox and it’s the first new release in weeks I’ve felt compelled to listen to front to back. I won’t bother with the comparisons, because I frankly can’t think of many. Just listen below.
