Today, we are extremely excited to bring you the premiere of the debut full-length album by Welland, Ontario-based punk rockers Dealbreaker! The album is called New Sides and features 10 of their strongest songs to date. The band’s energy never lets up from the first note of opener “Good Heart Dumb Brain” to the final note of closer “1-800”. Speaking to Punknews about the album, Dealbreaker said, ”It is above all else most important that each and every tale Dealbreaker tells means to you exactly whatever you feel most viscerally when listening along with us. When writing these songs, care is taken to ensure that they tell the stories we want to tell while also, in most cases, leaving room for personal interpretation. We are far more interested in hearing what these songs mean to you than to care to bore you with what they mean to us. On that note — here is where you stop reading, scroll down to the comments section (or find us on whatever social media or direct messaging service suits you best) and leave for us a note telling us what your favourite (or more interestingly, least favourite) Dealbreaker message means to you. What do YOU get from the lyrics? How does the music make YOU feel? In what profound or deeply unhinged way has the song spoken to YOU? New Sides is out now via Toll Free Records, which will be putting on their inaugural Way Too Fest in Welland on June 13, and Late Again Records. Dealbreaker will be playing their record release shows around Ontario in April and will be bringing Eternal Love to the UK with Pro Wrestling The Band in May. Converge have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called Hum Of Hurt and will be out on June 5 via Deathwish/Epitaph Records. The band has also released a video for the title track. Converge will be touring North Americaa with Poison The Well starting tomorrow and released their album Love Is Not Enough earlier this year. Dillinger Four have released their first new song in 18 years. It's called "Don't happy Be worry." according to the band, the new song " will eventually live on a record that hasn't been recorded yet." Singer and guitarist Erik Funk had to say: "So it's been something like 18 years since we released any new music, and the inescapable questions are why? And…why now? The honest truth? I have no fucking idea. We've been active that whole time playing shows, and we never really stopped writing music; we just sort of stopped finishing music. We've never tried to do this band as some kind of a career, and so we've never felt the pressure that comes from that. We do feel extremely grateful that, for whatever reasons, people all over the world are still willing to come check us out when we're playing and hoping to hear us do something new. If we've ever felt anything resembling pressure to do the band, it's for that reason alone. The balance of the shit we've been doing in our lives, parenting, work, hobbies, etc., has just seemed to fall into place in the past couple years to where now there's some room to get back to finishing some music. It feels good. It takes more time than it used to still. We can't just drop everything for two weeks and make a whole album. Slowly but surely, though, we've now got a stack of some new stuff, and it's time to start getting it out there. But as with all things Dillinger Four throughout our history, we reserve the right to do it how, when, and wherever we want."You can hear the tune below.

Well, we tried. Unfortunately, with a heavy heart, we announce our Punk in the Mart Fest is now canceled. We hope you're happy. This festival was something that we truly believed in. But, the current climate just won't allow for the show to happen. Our goal was to bring people together without committing to any particular point of view or principle. Well, it's not going to happen now. We thank those that supported us during this time. Maybe once things improve, we'll be back. Until then, uh, we'll be promoting festivals where the audience is less, how do you say, discerning as to the source of their entertainment, or maybe, well, uh, they are kinda, sorta, maybe, "down with the cause." Until then, All Hail the Empor- uh, we mean… See you soon!

The controversy surround Punknews' Punk in the Mart show is still burning hot. Several bands have dropped off due to Punknews' contributing 250 galactic credits to the Palpatine campaign. In contrast, the Max Rebo Band featuring Sy Snootles chose to remain on the bill. As you may know, the Max Rebo band reformed a little while ago WITHOUT Max Rebo himself, and instead featured singer Sy Snootles. Max Rebo himself has not been involved with the band since the end of their original run. Well, Max Rebo has now issued a statement regarding the band's decision to play Punk in the Mart. He says, "They’re taking the Galactic credits, and THEN pulling out? The real Max Rebo band would never have let this happen in the first place. We were about the music… and entertaining colossal, drug dealing, space slugs while blonde men were ripped to death by giant carnivore rock monsters. That's what we REALLY were about."
