Festivals & Events: Skinny Lister, Billy Liar, Arab Strap, more to play Frank Turner's Lost Evenings VIII festival

Frank Turner has announced the main stage lineup for the next edition of his Lost Evenings festival which will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland. On September 25, Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls will be performing a set made up of “back catalogue favourites and rarities” and Haiver and Koo Koo will be playing the main stage. On September 26, Frank Turner and Matt Nasir will take to the stage for an acoustic set. Nine Nesbitt and Chris T-T will be playing the main stage. September 27 will see Skinny Lister and Uninvited taking to the stage. That night will also see the 10th-anniversary performance of Positive Songs for Negative People. On the final night of the festival, September 28, Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls will be performing a Greatest Hits set and will be joined by Arab Strap and Billy Liar. More bands will be announced soon. Lost Evenings VIII will take place September 25-28 at O2 Academy Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Today we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new video by Richmond, Virginia-based musician Madison Turner! The video is for her new song “& the days go by” and was shot and edited by Ethan McQuade. “& the days go by” is Madison Turner’s second single from her upcoming album Curtsy When You Land. The album was recorded with a full band and features Ryan Clatterbuck on drums and Jack Morley on bass. There are several guest spots on the album including Liz Fackelman of The Best of The Worst and Keely Burn of The Tea Lights on keys. Speaking about “& the days go by” Madison Turner said, "It's about how people's circles grow smaller or shift, and how each time you see someone could be the last.” ”& the days go by” will hit streaming services on March 28 and you can pre-save it right here. Among Legends release Gob cover

Among Legends have released a ska cover of “Give Up The Grudge” by Gob. The song originally appeared on Gob’s 2003 album Foot in Mouth Disease. The cover is backed with a version of the song in which all of the swears have been replaced by trombone toots. Among Legends released their Live on Incorrect Thoughts EP in 2024 and released their album Take Good Care in 2022. Check out both versions of the cover below.

Tours: Newfound Interest in Connecticut / Treehouse of Horror (Europe)

Newfound Interest in Connecticut and Treehouse of Horror have announced European tour dates for this summer. The tour will kick off on July 8 in Wien, Austria, and wrap up on July 13 in Carpi, Italy with their performances at Third Impact Fest. Newfound Interest in Connecticut will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Tell Me About the Long Dark Path Home. Check out the dates below.

Swedish hardcore punks Xiao have released a video for their new song “Wrong”. The video was recorded and edited by Sean Christiansen. The song is the second single from their upcoming debut album Control which will be out on May 2 via Twelve Gauge Records. Xiao released their EP BURN in 2023. Check out the video below.

Tours: Superchunk release new song, to tour US in fall

Superchunk have released a new song. It is called “Bruised Lung” and features guest vocals and guitar from Rosali. The song appears to be a standalone single and is available digitally now via Merge Records. Superchunk has also announced US tour dates for this fall. The tour will begin on September 9 in Washington, DC, and wrap up on October 23 in Los Angeles, California. Tickets go on sale March 28. Superchunk released their split with Quivers in 2024 and their most recent album was 2022’s Wild Loneliness. Check out the song and dates below.
